Here is my just completed version of the Revell 1971 Mustang Mach 1 Diamonds Are Forever kit. It's painted in a custom mixed color using Chroma Molten Metals Copper with a few drops of Apple Barrel Black added to darken it. Createx 4050 Gloss Clear was used and wet-sanded, polished, and waxed. The stripes are from the Revell 1971 Mustang Boss 351 kit while the wheels and tires are 3D printed from Mean Machine Models on eBay. The interior is done in Createx opaque black with the kit decals added for the gauges and woodgrain door panel. Bare Metal Foil is on the window trim and I added valve stems and door lock knobs for extra detail. Kit decals were applied to help detail the engine compartment, and I added spark plug wires and heater hoses for extra detail as well. This is an excellent kit, as most have built the Boss 351 well know, with only a few differences between the two versions. LOL, yes I did. Thanks for the info! To me, the differences are barely, if at all, noticeable, but that's just me. I know there are some knowledgeable folks out there that can spot tiny differences like they're night and day. Personally, I would be fine building an "inaccurate" version using the '81 snapper decals if they fit ok, even if I will get called out for it, lol.

But outside of the fender vents, which most people wouldn't even notice anyways, what are the differences between the '79 and '81 Z28's in real life. Sure a few folks on here will pounce on minute details between the two, but I don't think it would be hard to pass off the '79 as an '81 or even as a '79 using the '81 stripes. Just my thoughts.

Someone should do some measuring to see if the stripes from the much maligned recent release 1981 Camaro Z28 will fit on the Billy's 1979 Z28. The '81 does include 4 different color choices for the stripes, even though the '81 is 1/25 scale while the '79 is 1/24, I'm skeptical as to the scale accuracy of the '81. If they fit or are very close and not really noticeable, that would give the '81 some purchasing clout, lol. I may try it myself if no one else cares to, but it might be a while.

Thanks Bill! The wheels and tires for the '55 Chevy and '69 GTO came from Jay's Resin Wheels and Tires on eBay. For the '67 Chevelle I cut the back of the kit wheels off and used the deep ring. I took a pair of wheels from Morgan Automotive Detail and did the same thing, and glued the MAD spoke part onto the kit deep dish rings. I left the front pair from MAD un-altered and just used the kit tires for both front and back. If you're interested I did a tutorial for my YouTube channel.

For my last project of 2024, I decided to give my AMT 1969 Olds 442 W-30 built in July 2020 a quick re-paint. It was originally painted in Decoart Metallic Berry, but I changed it to as close to Saffron Yellow as I could get using Apple Barrel White and Apple Barrel Sunny Day Yellow. I cleared it with Createx UVLS 4050 Gloss and gave it the wet-sand, polish, and wax treatment. I used Bare Metal Foil for the trim. I did adjust the ride height slightly and painted the wheel spokes in a lighter shade. Everything else was left un-altered from the original build. I do like this new color combo much better! I built 13 kits this year, plus I took apart one from 2020 to re-paint it a different color that I should have finished up in a day or two. I think I bought 10 kits this year, which is kind of a lot for me.

I received a monetary gift from a family member and turned it into these. I've heard from a couple of good sources that the Olds production has been stopped for now, so I bought two. I also finally managed to get the new tool Mach 1, even though I did manage to get the 007 version from Revell a while back.

Looks great! One of my all time favorite NASCAR schemes.
