I had the Belair in for the inspection yesterday. There was a high-end '65 Impala there for some AC work. It had an LS in it, air bagged.

Due to my BACK IN THE BOX!! habit, I put notes in with my projects. I keep notes from parts I have built in case I want to make more of them.

Dog Days usually go with August. But yesterday was doggone hot by us. After the rain it climbed to 96, was still around 85 when I hit the crib. Today is a rinse repeat of Sunday so far. I have to take my Belair in for inspection in an hour.

Hot, humid with rain. Yesterday was over 90, did yard stuff early, took pool breaks.

I do see maybe 4 Mustangs for every Camaro on the road. Very few Challengers and Chargers.

A few years back I had baby RATS in my yard, about 4 of they playing out front. I picked up some black plastic Victor traps that were excellent. I used some crackers for bait. I caught 2 right away, then found a Robin in one... Oops... From then on I placed an old cat litter container over the traps, with the side cut out. With the cap off, it had space for the little rats to get in. No birds or squirrels. I used a brick to hold it down.

I saw a stray orange cat yesterday at a shopping center, following some lady meowing at her. If it was kitten-ish I may have grabbed it.

I worked my night machine shop gig by a sump. By dark, all of the geese with the little ones marched back to the sump, at least 30 some evenings, right through the parking lot. My wife's day job was close by and she had to make a post office run one morning. This is in an industrial area, back-ish roads. She gets close by, traffic is all backed up. Someone was impatient and plowed through the geese. I read an account in the paper, something like 12 geese mowed down including little ones. I always liked to see the little ones go from yellow and fuzzy to full grown in a few months time.

Yesterday was hot, about 85 by mid day. The pool was great finally. Heavy rain rolled in around 7 last night. 66 F right now, we might hit the beach early then back in the pool.

How cute! Do you plan on getting them fixed?

I'll call it more accurate than Days of Thunder. I raced under the NASCAR banner for 4 years, I was a licensed driver (limited late model, bomber, street stock) from 1981 to 1987. The NASCAR officials have a very low tolerance for on the track nonsense. This is something that the film makers seem to miss.

Polecat for sure. They have a series, "short track heroes" deep in the site. Lots of old NE modified decals.

What's with the rain? 63 F and a light rain right now. Next week is supposed to be like 90-100 for a few days. I'm not complaining about the cooler days. It helps with outdoor stuff I need to do.

My brother built a '66 Chevelle stock car in a hotel room in France while working for Northrop-Grumman over 6 weeks, on the E2C program. He had to find a hobby store to pick up a few things he needed.

I leave the Mustang parked when it snows. My main fear is breaking the front spoiler with snow piled under it.

I use mainly #71 to #76 drills, a #65 and #37 for 1/32" clearance, 1/32" and 3/64" for tight clearance with installing pins. I have a pill vial with various other drills with paper tags on them, 2 old end mill cases, one is .026" to .062"-ish, the other .065" to 1/8". Then my trusty Huot number drill set, #1 to #60. I have to replace some missing drills.

Cucumbers are starting to climb! Corn and celery are doing well too.

62 F at 5:30 am. Cloudy, as was yesterday. Monday high was 70 and I got some garden work done. Pool went from 73 to 68.

I picked up 2 of the Galaxie issues last year, complete for $25 each, bad boxes and decals. Spotlight Hobbies had fresh decals for $8 per.

Likely headed to a new-to-me venue on Saturday, Smithtown NY at a supermarket lot. Supposedly it draws a lot of cars.

I pin mirrors in place. I try to use the biggest "pin" that the mirror mounts will accept. That with CA glue holds them on pretty well.

We were sitting outside on the deck after dinner and one of the squirrels was poking around. So I got some peanuts out for him/her and the bluejays. The little thing was pretty friendly and hungry. 20250615_171334.mp4
