Water based white glue is good. Any excess comes off easily. I have also used Tamiya X22 plear paint, it holds pretty well.

Hydraulic clutches eliminated a z-bar that could pop out of position, if you have ever seen guys circling the track during yellow flags, this is why. They had to leave it in gear. A good shot to the side of the car could loosen one. Most used the slotted tab on the frame rail, ours was a solid welded washer so it had nowhere to go.

I have a gardening bench that I now use all the time. I can sit on it, rest a drink on it, lay tools on it. I use it also to get up off the ground. Or I grab a car bumper (old cars only...). I picked up a little work platform from HF. that is quite handy and helps me out. I'm just totally beat up from getting the yard and pool together. The new '66 Chevy pushed me over the edge. Other than that I'm in good shape and stay active as possible.

I got some very dense foam pads from work, thicker than gardening pads and they hold up. That follows me everywhere. I just took a muscle relaxer and an oxy. I'm not doing much today on the car. I'm having the last 2 tires mounted and have to get some brake parts.

I'm a hot mess today. Been working on my new '66 Belair by myself. My right knee is a white hot pain source... my lower back is a close 2nd. I will rest tomorrow.

Since I moved here in 1986, I have seen ONE chippie. The north shore they are all over. Maybe they don't cross the Expressway? I had 5 squirrels about a year ago. Then one got clipped by a car and another drowned in my pool. So 3 it was for a while. A few weeks ago I started seeing smaller ones... and mine are generally well fed. So I count... I had 6 of them out there.

Nah, they bolt in with lock nuts. The driver side was replaced at some point. The factory holes are smaller for rivets, which the air chisel makes short work of. Then the holes need to be opened to take a 5/16" bolt. I have probably done well over 100 of these when I was fixing cars for a living. I got in last night, sat down and fell asleep, went up to bed officially around 11. Today is 62 and cloudy. All I have to do is assemble the arm and put it back together. Oh yeah, the disc pads are shot... that will be Tuesday's fun. I'm also having the new front tires put on my wheels.

Passenger side is together. I was able to track down upper ball joints too. The 2nd side is all apart. One bushing the inner sleeve was frozen. The air chisel makes it easier.

I am shot. Messed up my knee somehow, truly the walking wounded. New control arm bushings are in, 1 side. Have to pick up upper ball joints after 1. Cut myself using the air chisel too....

Quite accurate. My brother had one around 1985. It was parked in front of his apartment and a drunk ran into it in the wee hours....

I use between .016" to .018" wire. Mostly blue, red, yellow and orange. I just got some from Ron Coon Resins in orange. Ebay you have to be careful. I got 2 boxes of what was supposed to be wire wrap wire, but it was close to .040".

Shapers are still used. Die shops used them to rough things out, as they could run with minimal attention. I was a tool and die apprentice but mainly worked in regular machine shops. I did a lot of heat treating. I also programmed CNC mills for a while and set them up at a night gig I had for many years.

One was leaky and they are cheap at Rock Auto. I got the brakes in, my son was over and helped me bleed them. The old oil breather was clogged up solid, must have been original. I replaced the locking gas cap with a regular one. I have to put in a new dimmer switch that came today.

I have been gimping around with a knee injury... not fun and we heal slower with age. Be careful out there.

I had one many years ago, same car only a Caprice with a 396 in it around 1975. This is a 283 with a 2 barrel on it, I need to lean out the choke a little bit. I need the seat done... like sitting on the john as it is now. The locking gas cap is a PITA... ordered a new one. Once I had the SS hub caps off it, I realized it has Camaro 7" wheels on it. I got some 215/75-14 tires for the back and the existing ones I was going to use are too narrow for the wheels, so I'm getting 2 more. Next up is arranging to drop the front seat off to be done. Maybe early next week, I'm tackling the upper a-arm bushings next and possibly the front springs on the driveway.

Like I need a hole in my head. My girlfriend saw this for sale. I saw it last Thursday and bought it. A 1966 Belair that runs well. I got the rear brakes out waiting on parts. I put the OG steering wheel back on. I'm putting fresh springs under it, some minor front end work and an alignment. It has power disc's up front, a HEI ignition, aluminum radiator, new dual exhaust. The puller I used to get the steering wheel off, I made in college around 1974. The main part was made on a shaper.

The red Max Wedge has been owned by the same guy since new, unless it changed hands. I was going to go but got wrapped up in something here.
