  1. For me it is purely aesthetic. Certain models appeal to me, simple as that. I have no favorite brand though I do lean toward Mopar.
  2. I added some material. Lots of careful sanding sanding and test fitting ahead.
  3. Thanks very much guys. Some more work done. The first shot is with the chassis, floor pan added to the mix. The bed isn't going to work unmodified. So I got cutting. Next job is adding material so that the fender sides meet the bed sides as well as getting the back of the cab to get smoothed into the cab. More soon.
  4. Awesome work. Top marks.
  5. I got some bench time today. Per Davids excellent suggestion, I took a different path. More soon.
  6. The Phantom was a fella who wore purple in the jungle on a white horse. I think perhaps the Shadow or Will Eisners the Spirit would be a better fit for this one.
  7. Well, first off, a PM to Harry or Gregg would be your best bet. Here's two rules form the rules section that might apply. I see nothing there that says you cannot show what you have, and post a link for for folks to follow to get more info.
  8. I would rescribe the door lines before and then again after filler. Doing it before makes the after sooooo much easier.
  9. This idea really has my interest. I'm going to grab some callipers when I get home and do some measurements. Thanks again David.
  10. Thanks guys. Much appreciated.
  11. That's the idea Luke, but I do not care for the rounded rear roof and rear side windows. I think I'd prefer it flat like a pickup.
  12. Thanks Very much for the input. I'll look into those ideas. No cutting yet as I don't have the right thickness styrene to create the bulkhead.
  13. Here's my new project. I'm going to cut away the rear of the Olds at the paint line. Close in the body like a pickup. Remove the rear Olds fenders and build them up so that they can be used on the bed. Slam it to the ground and use a blown Pontiac. I'm hoping to NOT have to alter the wheelbase, we'll have to wait and see. It will be custom, but with a ratty vibe. No colors planned yet. I may just go with red oxide primer or flat black.
  14. I took this with my phone. Samsung Galaxy S5. It's about a year and a half old. Most modern phones have very good cameras now. Most have an auto focus that is good enough that macro is no longer required. For stability just set it on a book or something and snap away. Get some decent lighting though.
  15. I'd love to just have a set of those wheels/tires.
  16. Welcome back. Lets see what you've been building.
  17. Some really great imaginative work going on.
  18. I just love this. Fantastic work.
  19. My plans are to finish my Allison powered Charger. My Corvette whatcha-ma-callit track car that I have dubbed "Skinnie Minnie" and my Cannonballer for this year. A couple of box stock type builds are not out of the question either. I just got these two in primer.
  20. Great idea.
  21. My only issue with materials like tile or laminates is that parts tend to bounce well. So the part may not even be close to the area where you dropped it. The best surface I had for building was a very dense low nap carpet.
  22. Agreed about the lift. I'm planning more of an old garage. I need to find a garage scenes parts pack for all the dio parts first.
  23. That's not a bad idea. I'll start adding my online moniker to my entry forms.
