  1. Id think it would depend on how dark the primer is. As always a test on a couple of plastic spoons would be the best way to find out your answer.
  2. Seems like you have a new WIP every couple days Niko. Keep it going.
  3. There is an awful lot of originality there, which is hard to accomplish in a hot rod or custom these day. Well done. Its gorgeous.
  4. Wow. That looks dynamite. Never mind its a 30+ year old build which is in itself an accomplishment.
  5. No I think that would be carrying the theme a little too far. And besides, there no room for something like that.
  6. Perfect!!! Thanks very much Ray.
  7. Guys, I'm trying to design my mural for my custom '49 and it occurs to me that drawing it on a print out would make that easy. Problem is I've already painted the body black. Would someone who hasn't started theirs yet take a full on side view shot and a bird-eye shot of the entire car, with the smooth hood in place? And then post them up here? I can then manipulate those, print them out to scale and draw to my hearts content. And anyone else that needed them would have access too. Many thanks.
  8. Can you tell us a bit how you accomplished the "humpback" portion of the body? Really nice work.
  9. Yeah and tell us about the build!
  10. Very nice work. I have this kit on my shelf. It looks ......................challenging. I like yours a lot.
  11. I supose thats true, but it didn't occur to me because I don't sell any of my builds.
  12. Ya know I think we're starting to rub off on 'ol Jim. He'll be building rusty and crusty before ya know it.
  13. Very cool looking. I'm hoping to see an eye searing paint job.
  14. Amazing, I built two models years ago for a couple of local car owners. Neither lasted two months in the hands of their new owners. Did you ask the seller what happened to it? Looks great now. Looking foward to seeing it completed.
  15. Looks great Jim! Well done.
  16. I'm also kicking around the idea of trying a shrunken head to dangle from the rear view mirror. I need to find a small skull, any ideas? It's a column shift. But I do plan on having an ornamental skull there on the tranny hump and a golden cup holder too if I can get a cup or two.
  17. Yep, I'll be there. I was last year too. Yippee!
  18. Never occured to me. The idea behind my pics is to show the work that I accomplished. Hiding them in shadow isn't gonna show off anything. Just my $.02
  19. As you say, modeling is for entertainment. But also to me its about artistic expression. Any artist will tell you there is zero motivation to work a subject that holds no interest to you. So like you I will gladly recieve any kit as a gift, knowing full well that a kit I AM interested in, is only a trade away.
  20. Rommell has got a point, but in all seriousness, there isn't a chance of heck of anyone stealing the spotlight in this thread.
  21. Yep, they got that Chuck Most style. Three winners there Chuck.
  22. Quick update. The body is in flat black tonight. I'm going to let that cure for at least a couple three days because I will have a lot of masking to do for the mural and if I peel up paint with my masking I'm going to scream like a little girl, throw myself to the floor and throw a tantrum. And no one wants to see that. I still have some engine work to do, my rum barrel, my pirates chest, my skeleton. Not to mention the mural designs which I will draw on paper first. ALSO- IF ANYONE HAS A BEER STEIN SHIFTER FROM THE TOM DANIELS BEER TRUCK, I'D LIKE TO GET MY HANDS ON TWO. WHAT USE IS A BARREL OF RUM WITHOUT A MUG TO DRINK IT FROM?
  23. My wife says you should use a thigh high boot as your gear shifter.
  24. This kit sure is a bit infuriating. I like what I'm seeing so far.
