  1. Fred doesn't do anything usual that's for sure. Really well thought out and executed.
  2. Yep. Me too.
  3. This is a really tremendous piece. Every detail is spot on.
  4. I just took a look at the poll. Wow. We've not had a margin like that in a real long time. I'll be declaring the winner Friday the 14th.
  5. Giving this a bump.
  6. Very impressive so far. Looking forward to more.
  7. Per our rules - SparesThere will no limit to the quantity or the range of spares that can be carried in the car but trailers are not permitted.
  8. It's a '37 Chevy and very likely will not get back to it before the new year. Thanks for including me, I didn't realize there was a deadline.
  9. Pete. I got mine yesterday. Thanks very much. They look terrific.
  10. Scott, it's looking good. I really think youve nailed the look of a P2P racer.
  11. My original choice for this rally was the '41 Plymouth. I'm happy now that I changed my mind, because our builds would have ended up looking terribly similar. Yes indeed. That and excessively hogging out the wheel wells like the '39 in the photo above are purely for weight savings. It's a smart move because most of these racers have had quite a lot of weight added in the form of chassis/suspension/handling improvements that the weight needs to be reduced elsewhere. Back to the subject of luggage racks, has anyone thought about this one from the AMT '65 Lincoln? I'm thinking real hard about adding it to the trunk of my '51 Fleetline.
  12. Having all your family make forum accounts to vote for you would indeed qualify as electoral tampering. But I doubt the FBI will get in a twist over it.
  13. I'm glad folks are happy with the theme. I'm still absolutely clueless as to what I'll build. I do have a van kit, so that's not the issue, but the idea is what's lacking.
  14. You have my attention. Looking good.
  15. Welcome. I'm originally from Bayshore myself.
  16. Thanks Mike. I think this will do fine. Nice work, as usual. We did move from the SA forums after they nixed the poll function there, but it was far from the only reason. If the site admin here, can make this one more user friendly for next year, we will certainly play in our own yard.
  17. You are free to create a workbench thread for your build, but please keep this thread up to date at the same time. After many CBP's I've found that maintaining the original thread is vital to maintaining participants interest in the project. Seeing others work keeps me motivated and I don't always have time to peruse the whole forum. I suspect it is the same for others.
  18. We WILL be doing a 2019 Cannonball. The theme is vans. I'll post up the thread in a week or so for a Jan. 1 start.
  19. Very well. But I think we'll nix the dual rear wheels for the purposes of this rally.
  20. Which is clearly some sort of truck. Not a passenger vehicle.
  21. Thanks guys. I'm playing with the P2P racer right now, but this is still on the bench.
  22. Interesting idea and I'm glad it's come up now. What differentiates a van from another vehicle is the cab and cargo area are the same space. And the body is one piece. The Deora .............. hmm. Since the Deora was based upon a '65 A100 pick-up, I'd say it's legal. As long as there is no visible seam between cab and topper, and the cab and cargo area is merged inside. The Vandal. Same thing. Merge the drivers space to the cargo space.
  23. As I said before, if the rules create a question on whats allowable please refer to references from real P2P race cars. These are moderately modified passenger cars, not baja racers. Lets try to stick to the spirit of this rally. So.....no.
  24. Yes. Those are perfect. The metal rule is for the real racers. We build cars from plastic.
