  1. Agreed. Same thing with the Fox generation. The Hatches and GT's had all the glamor(and price) when they were new, no one cared about the notches (or sedans as Ford called them) then. Fast forward to now...the Notches are the most desirable, at least 'round here. Glad I still have the one I bought in '91!
  2. Ok. I converted the above mentioned AMT kit into this GT. MCW Emberglo paint,
  3. I get the performance potential here as well as the fun factor and it would be a blast in a metro environment.. The styling is dead on with Chevrolet's corporate "look" too so it fits in the line up. That said I won't ever get a vehicle that small until everyone else around here drives microcars. It's a bully free for all out there with huge SUVs and 4X4's. At least 'round these parts.
  4. I built one of those back in 76 or so and the parts fit was bad then.
  5. The tankers and agent's Fords from Thunder Road
  6. The inaccuracies in the kit body are subtle but those that know these cars well can spot them right away. Not complaining at all, glad to have a few (yes a few) of these kits. Photo Credit to Casey Littmann, from the thread I linked to above.
  7. Looks great Bob, you did the vintage kit justice as I knew you would. I'm glad you built it, especially in "box art" style instead of keeping it boxed. Well done sir!
  8. Just as a refresher, this subject has been covered at length here before. As the owner of a 91 Sedan since new I can say that there are definitely proportion and detail issues with the kit body. Outstanding build Brian!
  9. Agreed. RIP Powers.
  10. So that's where they sent all the good stuff! Ollies here has just Lindberg stuff and the Dodge Ram. Good score.
  11. 1 & 2 mm sticker @ $11.99 and $12.99 for the 4mm.
  12. Thanks for that heads up. I ran over to my local HL (Destin, FL.) and picked up a 2mm & 4mm on 40% coupons.
  13. Welcome to the forum and back to hobby Bill! Panhandle resident here.
  14. Sharp. I like the subtle big 'n' little's and the drop. Perfect.
  15. Exactly the same deal here. Lots of Lindberg ship kits too.
  16. Absolutely. I have several sets of wheels from those above mentioned chopped Mercs and a few others.
  17. Yes, and wide whites. The 49 Merc has this style cap The 48 Ford has these
  18. Well done Bernard! Your modifications, especially the channel, overall stance and the simple flathead really make this build stand out and look like an authentic hot rod rather than the somewhat "toy-like" presentation the kit has(to me) straight out of the box. Take a bow Sir!
  19. Thanks all. I understand what's going on here now. These cans are old so it all makes sense, I always decant and airbrush anyway so I should be able to use them later.
  20. I have more than a few cans of paint from various manufacturers on the shelf doing this. They have been there for quite some time. The room and house is climate controlled and house is about 35' above sea level. What exactly is that leaking out and what is causing this? Will the paint still be usable? Sorry if this subject has been covered before. Many thanks!
  21. Cool. FWIW The early first issue AMT '58 Impala kits had those tires in them also. I had one "in the day".
  22. WOW! Good scores there Tommy! Picked this up today from My local O'Reilly's. I noticed my current can of my favorite filler was starting to dry up and get thick as they do after a while on the shelf. Getting tired of throwing away almost full containers of this relatively expensive filler I did some research to see if there was a way to thin it and low and behold I found this stuff. I had no idea there was such a product! Looks to be a type of resin. Hopefully I won't be tossing any more Eurosoft away because of it drying up.
