  1. Nice job on an old classic that takes a lot of work to look good. You succeeded. Well done.
  2. I mostly use ebay to buy vintage build ups for restoration and vintage parts lots. Once and a while I'll pick up an "older" complete unbuilt kit if the price is right. With my extensive kit and parts collection I have no need to buy any individual parts from any of the current sellers. I find them to be overpriced anyway and especially after shipping is added in.
  3. Very clean and elegant. Well done!
  4. That's all I was asking in my OP as I didn't quite know how to do it. I do now as I was answered early on in the thread. Feel free to lock this thread if you feel it should be. Thanks.
  5. Beautiful build up. Excellent crisp detail, craftsmanship and the use of factory colors really make it outstanding.
  6. Brilliant!
  7. Nice find. Mild custom is definitely the way to go with it. Good luck with the build.
  8. Went to my local Ollie's today to check out the kits. Saw a Retro version AMT 62 Vette. I want one of those for my collection so I moved in....just to see that it was ripped open as well as the 3 others that were on the shelf, presumably for someone to see if they were molded in The "rare" and "collectible" sparklely orange plastic. I'll wait a week or two then offer them 7.99 for all four.
  9. Thanks Tom for that perspective. I get it, I just have a little trouble getting my head around making a "career" out of selling model parts on ebay. It's not for me to judge right or wrong on that but I still don't want to wade through 5 or 6 pages of those auctions to get to some I might be interested in...and from what I've learned here....I won't.
  10. Thanks Ben, you get it. The seller you mentioned is the one I had in mind when I made my original post.
  11. That's what I was looking for and it seems to work just as you described. Thank you James and Dave.
  12. Many thanks all for your advice and humor whether intentional or not. Just for the record I am an avid ebay user (and have been for many years) and find it an invaluable resource for finding vintage models and parts. Lately I just get a little annoyed with wading through 4 or 5 pages of one sellers parts auctions while browsing for the above mentioned good deals. I will try some of the mentioned techniques.
  13. Any progress on this one?
  14. Is there a way that I'm not seeing to block certain sellers from search/listing pages? To me this model parts selling is getting a little out of hand and I'd like to unclutter my browsing from it. TIA.
  15. These two gems landed a week or two ago. The price was right and I couldn't resist. I love vintage styrene!
  16. Great stance, hunkered down and ready to go!
  17. Very sharp and crisp. Outstanding build. Well done.
  18. Thanks for the tip, I picked one up today at HL with 40% off coupon. This will be a useful tool.
  19. BRAVO! Great final result. Looks very good and true to the 1:1. I enjoyed your build thread too.
  20. The aforementioned diecast kit has a fairly accurate manifold and carbs. They're still around and look pretty good with a little detailing.
  21. Thanks again all. I'm not a big Mopar guy but with the info I got here I was able to quickly find a few color pics of the subject, Bill was right about the colors.
  22. Well said Sir. I agree. His models are exquisite and are usually subjects that were not kitted. Thanks for that perspective and yes, I think something has changed.......I missed it too.
