  1. looking real good. Great idea with paper clip. You should get some kind of award for that!
  2. Forgotten treasure! Another benefit I noticed and am happy about is all the music I like is now in the discount bin! (Yes, I still use a CD player! LOL)
  3. Very cool and resourceful. If I may offer this... I think some basic plug wiring and maybe dulling down that tank would greatly add to the overall look. Nice job.
  4. Looks good. Somehow the Bumble Bee stripe works but then I'm not a purist. BTW I've washed Alclad before with no issues.
  5. Nice restoration considering what you started with. Well done.
  6. Looks great on your builds above. I just ordered some. I'm a long time Alclad user but now looking forward to trying this, especially with the spray can convenience. I'll stay away from the nail stuff.
  7. I predict a few more "proportionally challenged" new tools from Revell (A for effort though) and one or two modified reissues. A few more old tool reissues with cool new box art, tampo printed tires, decals and tinted glass trees from R2.
  8. Very nice conversion work. You nailed the basic utilitarian look of these early cars.
  9. Wow. Very sharp. Great detail and color combo.
  10. Sharp looking Firebird. As for the wiring, do you have a pin vise and set of micro drill bits? Those are basic modeling tools and I don't think they would be considered custom and are available from various online sources. I got mine here http://www.micromark.com/SearchResult.aspx?deptIdFilter=0&searchPhrase=drill+bit+sets
  11. Sharp, crisp and clean. Well done!
  12. After finishing the Deuce I decided to revisit this project. I really like the lines of the chop on this body but the casting is a bit rough and did not fit the fenders very well. After a few hours of grinding, sanding and filing I at least got it sort of fit. Not exactly sure of where I'm going with it yet as far as wheels, engine etc. but I do know it's going to be a dark color, blackwalls and possibly painted steelies with caps. I think next it will be a few more hours of grinding to get the interior bucket to fit! Comments, suggestions and discussion always welcome.
  13. WOW! Nice job! I know that kit ain't easy to build. Well done.
  14. I was wondering how you would deal with the shorter wheelbase. Clever resolution, I'm going to make note of that!
  15. Well done. Great looking sports car. I like that you built it stock.
  16. Great subject. Dale's ride in the Rod Osterlund days. Off to a good start there.
  17. Very nice. Crisp and clean. Well done.
  18. Thanks all! I appreciate your comments on this build. Best I can tell the specific parts are the a custom grill, tail lights, firewall(I found an original for this one), the engine(the original was a six carb Pontiac) and the wheels and tires(I used a set from the Lil Coffin kit here, they are close). There might be more that I don't know of but those are the basics. Hope that helps.
  19. My latest build finished at last. I'm big into kit nostalgia so I did it in a simple 60's style. My original intention was to build a direct recreation of the classic Little Deuce but I was never able to get some of the LD specific parts so I just took what I had and ran with it. It fought me every step of the way but I won and it looks great on my shelf with my other vintage Monogram hot rods. Comments and discussion always welcome.
  20. Very nice work!
  21. Sky King (1952-59) The first Songbird.
  22. The TV show Death Valley Days (1952-1970) was sponsored by Borax, so by association:
