  1. Thanks Bill. I never would have thought of that color combo for this. I was thinking that corporate greenish blue that some the B blocks came painted with. Good info.
  2. OK thanks. Y'all confirmed my suspicions about this cool mill's origins. My next question is if I were to restore this engine to stock what color would it be?
  3. I recently found this old Mopar engine while going through an old parts box. I was wondering does anyone know exactly what kit it came from? It is molded in light green and looks to me to be a JoHan piece? Thanks.
  4. Looks great from here, very detailed and realistic despite your build fit issues. Proof positive that persistence pays off! Well done.
  5. I agree Tom. The pick up with the Continental roof for sure. It will be preserved. The other one I might do something with.
  6. Wow that's clean. A lot of potential there. Good score.
  7. These old 'Birds landed here today. The price was right. I couldn't resist. I like these old build ups. I have no idea what I'll do with them yet.
  8. Great job Steve. Perfect stance and overall look. The six tail lights are a nice touch too.
  9. Nice first effort! You're a natural.
  10. Yup, I was lucky to score a clean well preserved sheet and they behaved better than expected but I did use a lot of setting solution........a lot. Thanks John.
  11. Thanks all! I appreciate your comments. Throwing this shot in for fun.
  12. Excellent work. Very realistic. Well done.
  13. Here's my latest build, finished it today. It's a restoration of an original issue build up I bought online. This is the very first issue of this kit as the rumble seat cover is molded shut whereas all later issues have the "mother in law" seat open. I decided to recreate the box art the best I could, using as many original parts as possible and painted with Testor's enamels. I was lucky to find a mint original decal sheet for it. It looks like a very simple kit by today's standards and it is but it took a ton of work to get all the fit together like this. No wonder they never looked right when I built them as a kid! I know these type of builds aren't everyone's "cup of tea" and I'm cool with that but for those that like this old stuff....... enjoy! Started with this barn find And after a slight rework As always comments and discussion are encouraged.
  14. Thanks for that pic. It's easier to see what that engine will look like than the looking at the glittering chrome in the pack. I do wish that set had the stock valve covers though.
  15. Extremely cool find! Looks like a lot of quality in that set.
  16. I'll just be happy to call my build "gasser style" and not worry if it's class legal or not. I'm going to take the "gasser" parts from the wagon and add them to a sedan kit along with a Ford 427 (probably from a T-Bolt kit} to come up with something like this. I always liked this car. A little long roof inspiration
  17. That's exactly my plan. I'll probably be changing out the wheel and tire package and probably the engine for a 427.
  18. Here's a comparo of the gasser floorboard and the sedan piece. Close but not identical. The gasser part is to the right. The frames appear to be identical.
  19. Yup, forgot about that one. Very good content there.
  20. Wheeler Dealers, Jay Leno's Garage, Motorweek,Chasing Classic Cars, My Classic Car and Phantomworks. I like Graveyard Cars too but haven't seen a new episode in a while. Have absolutely no use for Fast & Loud or Counting Cars and most of the rest of them.
  21. Coming along nicely. Good work.
  22. Very nice. I like that color combo with the black wall tires. Well done
  23. If I want to watch videos I'll go to youtube. I don't expect to see all that here but there you go. Just me. That said: Just for starters
