  1. Don't worry, Peter...I think he's a pretty versitile little dude!! I saw holes on the side of his canoe for mounting the skids!
  2. I can relate to that... I only buy models from eBay that I can't get from the LHS. We need to keep those guys in business. Way too many of them are disappearing.
  3. For lettering, it's usually applied BEFORE the model or the part is painted. The you lightly sand or polish the paint off of the tops of the letters, exposing the BMF. It can be difficult to do, but looks great when done well. Check out how Marcos Cruz did it on his '59 Impala: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=10323 Good luck, Milt!!
  4. Thanks for the compliments!! I bought mine from Danbury Mint. Yes, I also looked this evening and there are none on eBay. If you really want one, call DM. They stopped production in '06, but they "may" still have some.
  5. Is this the one you're refering to? If so, it's from the Danbury Mint. Production was limited to '06. If you want one now you can see if DM still have any for sale, but you'll probably have to try to get one from eBay.
  6. 1) Use a small piece of balsawood to burnish the foil before you trim it; 2) Always use a new #11 blade (Don't skimp on this step); 3) Burnish it again with lightly balsawood after you've trimmed it; 4) If you need to do any more trimming, use a small, sharp toothpick to carefully remove the excess; 5) Sit back and admire your handywork!! Good luck, Milt!!
  7. Very nice work for the first time using Satan's foil (a.k.a. BMF). I'm tellin' you, that stuff could make the Pope swear like a sailor!
  8. Welcome, Jay!! I hope that you enjoy it here as much as the rest of us do!! Now, what have you got to share??
  9. Well, it's still faster than waiting for the magazine to arrive!! Just kidding, Gregg!! You know that we all love the magazine!! And if I didn't have two kids in college sucking my wallet dry, I'd ask Harry to draw a picture for me! His work is truly amazing!!
  10. Nice looking machined parts, Jon!! Do you have a website or just the PhotoBucket site?
  11. Nice start on your little roadster pickup, Rick!! Here's a pic of the last one of those kits that I built: I'll be interested in seeing how yours turns out. That's one of my favorite early Revell kits of a 20s truck!! Later,
  12. Very nice work, Brian!! I always liked the big Chevys from the 60s and 70s!! Especially the ones with engines to match!!
  13. Very nice work, Rodney!! Let me know when you get tired of it. I've already made space for it in my display case!!
  14. Very nice build, Antonio!! The colors and the wheels look great on this car!! Keep up the GREAT work!!
  15. Yeah...and that little Hawaiian guy was REALLY tired from paddling his little boat all that way...
  16. Harry's artwork in the Jan 08 issue of MCM is awesome!! I only wish that I had seen his picture of the '58 Impala before I built mine earlier this year!! The '59 Merc Parklane and the '59 Caddy are equally as awesome!! Great work, Harry!! Thanks for sharing your talent!!
  17. I'll second that!! Great job!!
  18. Ron, Yep, I'm Plum Crazy about that color!! Really, GREAT build of a great car!! Keep up the good work!!
  19. Eric!! I can hardly believe how well and how quickly your model building skills are improving!! Fuel lines, brake lines, fully detailed engine, flocked interior...!!! Excellent work my young friend!! Excellent indeed!! Wheel option A looks great for a Pro-Touring type of build and looks GREAT on the car. With the stock motor, I think that I'd go with a more traditional, stock wheel. (but that's just me...) Keep up the GREAT work and the posts!!
  20. Ok, so it's a "little" late and the full page color ad for the NNL West is for a show long past come and gone...I'm always thankful when I get a new issue in the mail. Thanks, Gregg, for another great issue. Regards,
  21. Much better pics, Eric!! That is still one cool rat!! Yes, these pics of your Camaro look 100,000% better!! Very nice build!! The Willys kit is just too much fun to work with! Great job!!
  22. Oh yeah!! That is really coming along nicely!! The white accents really pop with that dark blue body color!! I can't wait to see this one finished and sitting on a table at the NNL West next year!!
  23. Sounds like fun!! Have a great time guys!! And...careful driving home...
  24. Another dangerous looking rat fresh from the desk of EK!! I like the rust holes and the junkyard door! The brake lines and wiring for the headlights are also nice touches! That is one monster sized arm coming out of the cowl steering! If it were a little longer and the car was a little lower you could use it to rip up speed bumps! Keep up the good work, my young friend!!
