  1. Cool looking little slot car!! Nice chassis work!! Thanks for sharing,
  2. It sounds like you might have to charter a flight so you'll have enough room to bring all you've built!! Yes, most of what's at the NNL is very well built...but that never stopped me from bringing a few "questionalble" builds, (like the Future Rat)!! I really needed to post a story with that one for most people to get what it was about... Later,
  3. I knew that you had elves working for you!! How else could you go from a bunch of parts ready to paint to a bunch of painted parts in just a simple scrolling down of the mouse to the next picture?! Tell your elves to keep up the GREAT work!! Later,
  4. Brian, Because of their teardrop shape, you rarely see anyone flairing the wheel openings on a '57 Chevy. One thing I've done in the past on a similar wheel opening design in 1:1, (to get wider tires under the car), was to raise the opening about 3" and push the opening out about 2". In plastic, raising the opening is a simple cut and reposition exercise. To push the opening out, you would need to reshape the opening slightly before you glue it back in place and fill in the resulting gap with a bit of styrene. Now, flairing a typical round opening is a whole different story... Good luck,
  5. The color looks GREAT, Marcos!! I can't wait to see more pics!! Later,
  6. Very nice!! The bullet holes are a nice touch, too!! Thanks for sharing,
  7. I second ALL of that!! That is one fine looking Cobra!! Thanks for sharing,
  8. Bernard, It's GREAT to see how you build a model that fits a particular theme or era with a story behind it. That's something that was really lacking in many of my builds, (and especially my posts), until I saw examples of how you put it all together. The "story" is such a significant part of the model!! Especially to those in our lives, (like "she who must be worshiped"), that don't really get "the model building thing" that we do. It's that story that connects our inspiration for the build to the completed model. So, how many stories do you have completed this year that you'll be bringing to the NNL West? Later,
  9. Looking good, Ismeal!! WOW!! That yellow is really BRIGHT!! Later,
  10. Looking good, Bernard!! It's probably better that the side panels didn't fit...now we get a clear view of that cool little fuelie all the time!! Later,
  11. Looking good, Curt!! That pink primer is really cute... I may have to try it on my next red paint job... Later,
  12. GREAT pics, Randy!! Once I have money again, (aka: once my kids graduate from college), I'll have to venture east and catch an NNL other than the one I go to every year in sunny CA!! Later,
  13. They all look pretty nice!! Thanks for sharing,
  14. Charles, The Revell 41 Willys kits are a GREAT source of parts for what you're looking for. Even though they're great models right from the box, I bought many of them to use as parts donors. The all have a blown, early HEMI. The street rod versions have an A/C unit, but the drag versions (Stone, Woods & Cook and the Big John Mazmanian) are probably closer to what you want. The chassis on the street rod version is also a bit different than the drag version, but they all have monster tires in the back and smaller ones in the front. Later,
  15. I thought they looked familiar!! I'm glad that you found the perfect model to put them on before they turned to dust in my parts box... Later,
  16. WOW!! The paint scheme looks awesome!! I really like the look!! You know I'm not much with resin, but I'm pretty sure that Dave is right about using hot water to get the shape back... Keep up the GREAT work!! I can't wait to see this one Under Glass!! Later,
  17. Hertsi, Besides eBay which is a GREAT source, I also use www.carnut.com Later,
  18. Very nice, as usual!! The paint and the weathering on the bottom side looks GREAT!! Thanks for sharing,
  19. John, Another GREAT build!! It seems like its been quite a while since I've seen something you've finished...what else have you been working on? Later,
  20. Charles, It looks like it cleaned up pretty well!! The aluminum stacks and headers look pretty good. I still want to bash one of these kits with the Deora. Yes, I know it's been done before, but I really want one for my collection. I have both kits...what I seem to be lacking is the time to get it done... Later,
  21. Great responses, guys!! Are you listening, Revell? There is still a lot of potential with this series of kits. Later,
  22. If I were running Revell's sales and marketing department, here's what the next kit in the '32 Ford series would be: Body: A roadster / closed cab pickup (Like they did with the '29 Ford pickup). Build options would be fully fendered or highboy. NOTE: I really like the Vicky, but it's probably too close in appearance to the 2dr sedan to make a significant enough difference to get a good return on investment. Chassis: Since the truck chassis is different than the car chassis, maybe we could even get away from the bagged rear axle and move towards a transverse leaf spring out back with some vintage drums... With that, we might even get some finned Buick drums up front, too... Engines Choices: 1) The flat head from the '50 Ford pickup with the Arden heads; 2) The Caddy engine from the '49 Merc with a 4, 6 or 8 hole log manifold and a set of finely crafted 97s; 3) The small block Chevy fuelie engine from the '57 Black Widow (with a log manifold option, too). Tire and Wheel Choices: 1) Big 'n Little Steelies with chrome trim rings and '40 Ford hubcaps; 2) Big 'n Little Steelies with Lancer hubcaps. I think this would be a great combo on it's own and would provide those of us who like to swap parts for various other combinations with a few more goodies to pick from. What body style and parts would you pick if it were your choice?
  23. Given just what comes in the boxes of the 5 main combinations of Revell '32 Fords, (without any modifications), what is your favorite combination of components and why? Here are the four main categories to pick from: 1) Body style 2 Door Sedan; 3 Window Coupe; 5 Window Coupe; Roadster; The Speedwagon? 2) Fendered or High Boy? 3) Engine Carburated 302 small block; Fuel injected 302 small block; Flat head; 392 HEMI? 4) Wheels Slotted dish (from the Roadster); 5 spoke Torq-Thrust (from the coupes, the sedan and the Speedwagon); Kelsey Hayes spokes (from the sedan); Steelies (from the 5w coupe)? Mine is the 3w coupe, fendered with a flat head and steelies. I like the way the doors on the 3w body slant forward into the cowl. And, what's a flattie without steelies? Later,
  24. That is too true!! I couldn't decal a model the way you and Hossain do to save my life!! The decal sheet is the first thing I throw in the spare parts bins whenever I open up a new kit!! Keep up the GREAT work!! Later,
  25. If your hobby shop doesn't carry it, you can get it directly from Testors. http://www.testors.com/products/137003 The price is the same as what you'll pay in a hobby shop and their shipping charges are reasonable if you get a few cans at the same time... Later,
