Nice work on all of them! Really like the Torino the best!
-
I really like the Badman and the 32 Ford. Great job!

All of these were built for my three younger brother's Christmas presents. They all had 1:1 cars in the same colors. These are all 1:16 kits.

Just finished this today. 1:16 MPC kit. Built for my brother's Christmas present. He bought a 1984 1:1 just like this new after graduating from Ohio State back in the day. Wheels were modeled by Rico (camaro69) and 3D printed by Shapeways. Decals in kit were the wrong color for the car so Echorayniner made these for me, including the licence plate. Hope you like.

When I saw the pics I thought the same thing. I'll add some details!

OK I will post it in the "all the rest" section when done. It may be a while.

Pace Peacekeeper 24-Inch Mini-Plus? Any good?
Safire6 replied to crowe-t's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thanks for the review and comments. I'm seriously thinking about getting one. -
Would love to see some more pics of the Tony Nancy dragster and the Mongoose funny car if you've made some progress on it?

Looks good. If you haven't done so already, stretch that hose out to get as many wrinkles out as you can and make it as short as possible, so the inside diameter is as smooth as possible. That way it won't collect and hold as much over spray. How is the seal around the filter? -
Wow that is nice, love the color! Like everyone else said, looks like the real thing. I'm finishing up a 1:16 '84 Trans Am soon. It won't look as good as yours though.

When I saw "Vols content" in the title I said to myself I gotta see this! My wife is a college football fan too and especially a Vols fan, me not so much any kind of sports fan except drag and F1 racing. I'll print this out and show her. I built the '68 Revelle Beetle last year and painted it black. I agree completely with you-great detail and great fit.

I was thinking earlier today about posting a question "why do you build models?" to see the different responses. Your reason for building this, in my humble opinion, is the best response I could have gotten. Nice job!

These are the center cap decals (from echoxrayniner) that I applied using everyone's suggestions. They measure .15" diameter. They are on Trans Am wheels that camaro69 modeled for me and Shapeways made. Soon they'll be on the 1/16 AMT kit that echoxrayniner made additional decals for. I'm happy with the way the wheels and decals turned out.

The 265 cfm fan should pull the fumes and over spray out much better than the 148 scfm fan. Keeping the 4" duct short like you plan will allow the fan to work as it is intended to and make the most use of it's power. -
OK thanks for the suggestions everyone. Some of these decals are very small, about a 1/4" diameter, so manipulating them with my clumsy fingers will be difficult but I'll get 'er done. I'm used to using a wet cue tip to slide the decal off the backing but I'll try some small brushes also. Echoxrayniner on here made some custom decals for my 1/16 Trans Am and made some additional small ones so I have some extras in case I screw up.

I have a sheet of decals where the individual decals are not separate from each other. In other words I will have to cut the decals off the sheet separately and trim them closely to the outline of the decal. I'm used to decal sheets where the decals were all separate from each other. I hope I'm explaining this correctly. Anyway, once I cut the individual decal and backing from the sheet and trim it closely, what tricks do you all have to slide the decal off the backing and onto the model? In this case the decal and the backing sheet will be the exact same size and shape as each other. How do I hold the backing sheet and slide the decal off? Normally I would use a tweezers to hold the backing sheet (which would be a little larger than the decal) and slide the decal off but I can't do this now because the tweezers would be grabbing the decal and the backing sheet together, preventing it from sliding off. I think I somehow need to hold the back surface of the backing sheet with something and slide the decal off the face of the sheet as I normally would. Help!

I've been looking at the 24" mini plus and the 24" super mini also. I would think that they probably both perform about the same (as far as sucking away fumes and overspray) because both use the same 148 cfm fan and 24" x 12" filter. That means the 'face velocity' at the air filter is 1.23 feet per second. The 36" deluxe model has a 265 cfm fan with a smaller 20" x 12" filter. Therefore the face velocity is 2.65 feet per second or about twice that of the 24" units. So the 36" unit should evacuate fumes and overspray much better. However if the ducting you put on the outlet of the fan is too long or has too many bends in it, it puts a resistance on the fan outlet and the airflow (cfm) will decrease resulting in loss of performance. If there is any dust floating around in the space where you paint, the 36" unit will pull it into the booth and past / over your model better than the 24" units. I think I'm going to go with the 24" mini plus but I would also like to know how well it does with rattle cans since that is all I currently use. -
Can we see your model stash?
