  1. I am building two of the 1/16 scale AMT '65 Mustangs now. Almost finished with the engines. I agree, very little interior detail and no detail on the front suspension-just the wire axle that runs through the oil pan. I'll post some pics later.
  2. Looks great! It's definitely a mini Mini.
  3. ditto! Very realistic, great job!
  4. Nice! I'd love to see that when it's done or during the build up. I just got this one a few weeks ago but haven't started it yet:
  5. Thanks David. I agree on the A post-it's way to thick. I have a '72 Triumph TR6 that I did a frame off restoration on a few years ago. Even new from the factory the panel gaps were not so great on these cars, not quite as bad as on my model though! Steve
  6. You are correct Snake, it is the 1/24 scale Revell '68 Beetle.
  7. Not so great when viewed at a low angle. Bad fit in the wheel wells, doors and bonnet ("hood" to us Yankees ).
  8. As requested, here's some comparison shots , all 1/25 scale:
  9. Thanks for your replies Benjamin and Casey. Looks like I'll be sticking with the stock wheels and body that came in the 1/16 MPC kit.
  10. Thanks for the tips Michael! I'll be using Plastruct for the seams and trim on the Mustangs. I'll give that painting technique a try.
  11. Thanks everyone! Yes this is 1/25. It is small....I post some pics of it later next to a 1/25 scale '66 Galaxie and a '68 Beetle for comparison.
  12. Thanks! I did not polish it, just clear coated it. I 'lowered' the windows to make it easier to open and close the doors....not that I'll be doing that too often! And I think it looks better that way. I wanted to put Panasport or Minilite wheels on it but couldnt find any and I didn't like the looks of the stock wheels and tires so the Pegasus one's went on!
  13. Been working on this one for a while, just finished it tonight. Pretty much box stock except for the Pegasus chrome M5 wheels and tires with gunmetal spokes. Probably too much wheel/tire for this car. Model master honduras maroon lacquer and clear. Lots of fiddling and trimming to get things to fit halfway decent. My first attempt at using Perfect Plastic Putty and sanding. Comments welcome!
  14. Looks great! Like Snake, I'm curious to know how you did the vinyl top. I've never done one but will be doing two '65 Mustangs soon with vinyl tops, one white and one black. Any tips and tricks are appreciated!
  15. Very nice...I like the wheels and stance!
  16. That is just awesome! And the photography is outstanding too. Nice job!
  17. I did these two last year.
  18. I wish I still had half of the cars/planes I built as a kid but alas I torched them or put firecrackers in them. Of the ones I had, so far I've built the AMT Peterbilt 352 Cabover, Tom Daniels Tr'antula and '66 Galaxie 500. Will be building the Revell front engine Tony Nancy "the Loner" dragster and Revelle '65 Ford GT40 later this year or next.
  19. +1, very nice!
  20. I posted this in a different section but didn't get any response so I thought maybe it would see more traffic here.......Does anyone know if anybody is making (or can make) the Firebird TA wheels as shown in this pic in 1/16 scale? Also I'd like to know if anyone is making the silver rocker panel "skirts" and front valence as shown in the pic. Thanks in advance!
  21. Thanks for the photos! It looks very similar to the kit that I'll be building, right down to the decals.
  22. Tell us more about the Ford GT. Is that the Revell / Monogram kit? I'll be building that later this year. More pics please!
  23. Does anyone know if anyone is casting (or can cast) the Firebird TA wheels as shown in this pic in 1/16 scale? Also I'd like to know if anyone is casting the silver rocker panel "skirts" and front valence as shown in the pic. Thanks in advance!
  24. Hi Baycolony....I will be building a couple of 1/16 scale '65 Mustangs for my two brother's Christmas presents next year. I want to 'create' vinyl tops for them (one white vinyl and the other black vinyl). Your Charger Hemi R/T is beautiful with the vinyl top. Can you tell me how you created the vinyl appearance? What type/brand of paint, tape, etc. Any help is appreciated! Steve
