Thanks Kurt! Yes a couple of the TR6s I test drove including the one pictured had the customary "tail squat" that is well known in the Triumph independent rear suspension (IRS). The condition can be rectified by some simple modifications, if you want it rectified-some people consider it part of the character of the car!

Thanks for the links David but yes, a bit out of my price range. I'll stick to spending $ on my full size TR for now. You know from working in the parts department for those years that there seems to be always something to fix on an old car. But that's what makes it fun for me and the Triumph is so straightforward and easy to work on! I have the GT6+ kit shown at the top in your post. I don't have the skills to make it into anything but a GT6+ at this time. Cheers!

Hi David-thanks for the information, I'll look into the Tamiya kits and others. By the way, I see that you are from England. I have a 1972 Triumph TR6 that I've had since 1991. I finished a complete frame off restoration on it 8 years ago. I've been looking for a model kit for a TR6 for some time now but with no luck. I have a Lindberg kit for the Triumph GT6+ though that is still in the box. Do you (or anyone) know of anyone that makes a kit for the TR6 (any scale)?? Steve

I've only built the Revelle kit so far, no experience with the Tamiya kit, yet David. Actual no experience building any Tamiya kits since I got back into the hobby last year. I assume that their quality is excellent? Steve

No bare metal foil, just paint. I haven't tried BMF yet on anything but want to soon.

I was the second oldest of 5 boys. My two youngest brothers were probably 2 and 3 years old and just able to squeeze into the pocket. I remember at 6 or 7 I could barely fit back there. Very cozy! Thanks everyone!

Just finished this a couple days ago. My dad had a 1960 (?) VW Bug for a few years in the mid-1960's. It was black with dark red interior. I remember at 5 or 6 years old riding in the car on short trips with my dad, mom and four brothers, two of us in the "pocket" behind the rear seat. I still remember the smell of the car's interior. When I see old un-restored VW Bugs at car shows I try to stick my head in and sniff-it usually brings back memories of riding in the pocket. This was built from the Revelle '68 Beetle kit. I hope you like it.

The M972 Flatbed/w Excavator

That is simply amazing! So realistic. How long did it take to complete? Just curious. -
I love it! Wish I still had all my Hotwheels and Matchbox cars/trucks. Great job.

Looks great David, great timing! My son gave me the same kit for Christmas and I just opened the box up yesterday. My father had a black Bug back in the day with a dark red interior. I'm building mine with those same colors. Hope it turns out as well as yours!

After being away from the hobby for about 40 years, this is what I completed this year. Hope to get more built in 2018.

Awesome, I love the slicks and engine details, not to mention the color!

Thanks for the info. Rex. I appreciate the feedback!

I got this as a kid (about 50 years ago). I cannot remember for sure who or where I got it from but I think I may have gotten it from sending in cereal box tops. I'm sure some of you old timers remember doing that! My dad saved it for me for all those years. I wish i had saved some of the Matchbox cars I had. Does anyone have any idea what it may be worth, if anything? Not that I want to sell it, just curious!

Very nice Classicgas-the paint is beautiful!

Thanks guys! No flames or firecrackers this time around!

As mentioned in the "on the workbench" forum, this is my second build of this model. First time I built it I was a teen and unfortunately I burned it to the ground. I think this time around it turned out much better as I was much more patient with the details.

Yes I believe so Spike. Mine is the Lindberg. Safire6

I remember building that when I was a kid! Thanks for the memories! Steve

White Road Boss & Logging Trailer

Almost un-believeable details. Amazing work! Cograts! -
Here's some pics with the doors open...Still need to attach the tailgate "stays", but may leave them off just 'cuz I like to close the gate sometimes.

Thanks Dann! I simply brushed a thin coating silver paint on a smooth flat surface and carefully placed the taillights in the paint. Took about 4 tries to get it right.

Thanks for the comments you guys and thanks Classicgas for the Speedway Decals info.!

Mine's not nearly as nice as the one's I've seen on here but here it is anyway! I completed this one before starting on the Little Red Wagon. Wish the proper decals came with the MPC kit.
