Well this started out as a Dream Build project on a email list that I am on. It was going to be Black and silver and while at a car show I Saw one done that way and I didn't like it. So out came the True blue pearl from House of Kolor To go with the slver; Have it polished out and will be doing n start putting it together.
I have this color from black gold and it just says to thin iy 100% with a med temp lacquer thinner . So you must have Kustom kolors paint I have used a medium temp lacquer thinner for that as well. Heck I thin all ,y paints with Lacquer thinner
Very Nice looking build!! You say the wheels are from the AMT Riveria Kit!! I guess I better see if I have that kit needsome wheels like that for a project>

I chopped one of these a few years ago got it to this stage and the paint started to peel off used black from the Kustom colors from house of color then i shot it with the clear they suplled and it made the paint peel off. I have it stripped and have to redo the rear fender wells as I wanted stock looking ones. Here is is in paint before the clear.
Those I put the masking tape on the car then drew the flames on the tape. I did that free hand so it took a couple times to get them to look the same on both sides. I then cut the flamesout with my exacto knife. I then ran my finger nail over the edges to get the edges down on the body. These were just red pearl in testors wet look clear that I decanted into my airbrush. I then wnet around the edges with that clear and then after that set up i did that again. Once that set up I pulled the tap off. I then added more clear to my airbrush and that diluted the paint some so that there wasn't as much pearl in the clear. When I shot this clear over the body I did't shoot any on the flames just the outside edges. After that first coat set up i did that agin just to build it up alittle on the edges of the flames. I then shot it with 5 more caots of clear that I just kept adding to the airbrush. Then after it all set up I polished it all out to level off the paint.
