  1. Good idea, I've got that kit, although I plan to use the steelies on the Nova, I can easily make a mould and cast them in resin.
  2. I had an angina attack just reading those words !! Factory stock is what i build, not decided on the colour yet,as I've got way too much planned before I even think of starting this one, but I'll either use the other set of wheels included in the kit, or I'd like to get hold of a set of steel wheels with the chrome hubcaps
  3. You're correct in saying the 12 seater was tax except (New Car Tax) as it was classed as a bus, but you could buy a10 seat station wagon in the U.K., Those had the four jump seats in the back.
  4. Just had to get another one of these
  5. I'm hoping that the fact that you have to drill out so many holes in the floorpan for the rear seats that Revell have other versions in the planning, if the 109 kit sells well, hopefully Revell will se fit to release a 88" version.
  6. Superb little build, wished I'd have picked one of these up when I was in Hong Kong a few months ago.....
  7. Why Revell decided to put these drill out marks on the outside of the body is beyond me, the easiest way to deal with them is to drill them out with a 2mm drill and insert some 2mm styrene rod, cut flush then sand smooth.
  8. I finally got around to finishing the build article and got it sent over to the magazine, Its now been published today.
  9. Seats dry fitted in place, an angina attack stopped play.... Hopefully I can get back to it tomorrow.
  10. Both look really nice builds...
  11. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Wolfcraft-Microfix-Clamp-Suction-3638000/dp/B001W7JX3K/ref=pd_sbs_60_t_0/259-3055001-3104510?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B001W7JX3K&pd_rd_r=ff6fc8a4-52d7-4372-9dc6-ea4f43e36bfb&pd_rd_w=j5iw3&pd_rd_wg=p2cJW&pf_rd_p=e44592b5-e56d-44c2-a4f9-dbdc09b29395&pf_rd_r=SEJVKWNFEEKYR1ZG7Y6Y&psc=1&refRID=SEJVKWNFEEKYR1ZG7Y6Y
  12. Sometimes it's worth reading the Instructions before putting any parts together, although not mentioned in the instructions, Revell have supplied seats to make a basic and Deluxe interior, Its a shame they didn't supply a Deluxe bonnet hopefully someone's out there will do a resin aftermarket one, looks like the spares box will be gaining a few more parts.
  13. Doesn't seem a lot of work for one day, but a lot of these parts need a lot of cleaning up before there ready for primer, plus I really didn't get a lot of time over the weekend to get into the hobby room
  14. To be honest, this one has been on the wanted list since building the 58, I've seen a few listed on eBay going for silly money, and there's the shipping on top, this one I picked up for less than £30 including the shipping.
  15. Still driving the 2006 PT Cruiser I bought new back then
  16. I'm going to do my best to cut down on buying more models in 2020, but as it's still 2019, I've just bought this one, I enjoyed building the 58 Corvette earlier in the year, not much difference in the 59, mainly just details on the body and interior, and this one comes with the hardtop.
  17. That's much better, I'll admit I've missed mold lines sometimes until the gray primer has been applied.
  18. Olive oil or peanut oil works just as good to remove super glue
  19. Have you fixed the Low range and 2/4wd levers in place, as there total incorrect, they should be on the other side of the tunnel, see the photo below
  20. Yes, I did see that, even though I don't post on Britmodeller, I can see Revells reasoning, they based the model on a LHD vehicle, I suspect they thought like the pedals, everything on the Land Rover would be swapped over, it's a shame they didn't check before hand it's not as though there isn't any 1:1 RHD Land Rovers out there.
  21. Looking over the Revell Land Rover this morning, already spotted a mistake, depending on whether it is left hand drive or Right hand drive, the air intake for the carburetor will be on one side only, Revell seems to put a small locating mark molded in the body on both sides, so a little bit of filler should sort out it, why Revell didn't mark them on the inside so they could be drilled out.
  22. Looks a fine build, love all the detail you put into it.
  23. If it was a Phase One,it would have a 3.5 V8, the V8 won't fit in the Series 3 engine bay, which is why the Phase one engine bay is longer, bringing the front panel flush with the front wings, plus the inner wings are totally different in fact the V8 Land Rovers were basically Range Rovers with a different body.
  24. Another model supplied by Revell for a magazine build article
  25. Thanks everyone for your comments, I've thoroughly enjoyed this build, it's a cracking kit, with no fit issues at all, since building the AMT Chrysler 300, I've been using MCW Lacquer paint, which I'm sure has made a great difference to my paint finish, I've enjoyed it so much I'm going to buy another one, but paint it in a different colour and do the parchment interior with the other set of wheels supplied in the kit.
