  1. Front seats fitted Towbar ball protector airbrushed in gloss red enamel
  2. Welcome Aboard .....
  3. A little more flocking and rear seat fixed in place
  4. I've heard a few stories of the early versions having a problem, I've also heard the re-tooled the roof section, of all the Trabant's I've built, and I'm on my fifth now, and I've not had any problems with any parts not fitting
  5. I'm not surprised it never came out of the paint, the paint I'm using, which is the same paint that was supplied to the factory, and is basically the same kind of gloss paint you would use to paint your house with, which is why after a few years all Trabants looked a little faded, the paint supplied was labelled as being "Weather Proof", hardly the best type of paint to use on a car that's outside in all weather.
  6. Flocking finished ...
  7. I'd love to drive one, went to a Trabant meeting many years ago, when I was asked to go and photograph it, you can pick them up over here for around £1,200 for a very good condition one, not sure my partner would see it as a good buy though.
  8. Sadly after trying to wet sand the body, I had put on a very light coat and i went through to the primer, and after trying to touch it up, i decided the only option was to repaint it, actually, to save time, I used another bodyshell I had prepared tio build a deluxe version of the Trabant, this body is in the stripper, as the "Deluxe" version has been put on the back burner for a while, the Trabant paint I had decanted into two small jars had so much debris in them, they had to be filtered, this paint really doesn't like to be decanted from the aerosol, which I on;y did because the valve had gone faulty on the can.
  9. Superb work, as usual Harry, I've seen these kits listed a few times, but never seen one built up, could be an interesting project, I always like to build something a little different ...
  10. The original wheels would have been steel painted silver with a chrome hubcap, although there were chrome OEM style wheels available
  11. I've had one of those for about 3 years, 99% of the time I use cellulose and acrylic lacquer, never had a problem with it, I'm sure you'll be very happy with it
  12. Superb Build Jonathan ....
  13. Superb build, I still have a few of these to build ....
  14. oh no its not ...
  15. thats my problem as well, in my mind, I have plans for all of them ....
  16. Just looked on my Database, and I have 154 unbuilt kits, mostly cars, 2 old time German trusks and 3 London Buses, most of my older builds were either sold or given away a few years ago in a house move These are my models I still have that I've built over the last few years
  17. That would be great in a 1/24 plastic kit
  18. Much be catching, as i seem to do the same, I'll buy a new kit or win one on eBay, only to find I already have one hiding in the stash
  19. Spring is on it's way over here, so the modelling room will be closed so I can crack on with cleaning and detailing the Cruiser, and hopefully make time to get out with the cameras and earn a little more cash,
