  1. You’ve got the right Idea. I like to use .020” brass for really tiny parts like mirrors, but any tiny solid wire will work. Best to drill and install the pins in the mirrors and pre mount them before any painting is done. It’s easy to re-open the holes in the body if they get filled with paint, and the pins in the mirrors give you something to hold onto while painting. Get a large sewing needle to make a divot for starting the drill bit. Good quality bits are a must…cheap ones may never stay on center or may drill an oversize hole if they will drill a hole at all. Just a very tiny dab of CA is needed for final assembly.
  2. The interior is pretty much done except for the shifter and brake lever. They are awaiting the Crome treatment after getting the flash removed.? I scraped off the faint welting around the non existent door opening…which wasn’t in the correct place, scribed in some new door lines and added new welting. I made new controls (timing advance?) for the steering wheel by melting a ball on the end of some .020” Evergreen. The door handles are a piece of wire.
  3. Thanks. I also have their Mercedes 540K, but the hood was warped and I made it worse trying to straighten it…so it wound up back on the shelf.?
  4. Yeah, some exterior pics would be nice. There was one sitting out behind the dealership in my hometown with no engine in it. I kinda fell in love with it. I was maybe ten or twelve years old and I thought those door handles were just the coolest thing ever.?
  5. Day dreaming is something I spend too much time doing.
  6. Wow, I’m amazed the mice didn’t destroy those seats too…or the meth heads. These are great looking cars.?

  13. I kinda like that shade of green. It looks good.?
  14. Got the engine in and the front and rear suspension finished. I’m getting the body ready to paint but first I want to pin all the parts attached to it. The windshield is kind of precariously mounted, but a couple of pins will help come final assembly.
  15. I want one of these badly…but I am debating whether I want to spend the eighty bucks.?
  16. Herbie looks great David!? Nice work?
  17. Palmer kits are something I have never seen in person.

  21. FWIW, I have found Tamiya spray clears to be quite Hot! They will craze paint that Mr. hobby or Testors doesn’t.
