  1. I would make a slightly tapered wedge piece from sheet or rectangle stock so it can be pushed into the hole snuggly and glued, then trimmed.?
  2. Attention to detail is one of the highest priorities in this hobby if you want to turn out results (and many do) that are truly impressive.
  3. Turn the can upside down so you don’t lose any more of that binder (or whatever the proper name is). Then you should only lose propellant in the future. The remaining contents can still be decanted and sprayed through an airbrush. Even the blobby ones should be able to be decanted??‍♂️
  4. If they are smaller than the diameter of the sprue, I would heat and stretch a piece of sprue. This will give you a tapered piece that can be pushed snuggly into the hole regardless of the hole size, and then glued with solvent cement (my preference) or CA. Once dry the ends can be trimmed and sanded flush.
  5. My bad…I didn’t scroll backwards to the original post.?
  6. From the net:? The most recent sale of the 1957 Ferrari 500 TRC was in August of 2022 at RM Sothebys : Monterey where it sold for $7,815,000.00 (USD). And if that one isn’t elite enough for you… https://www.straitstimes.com/world/a-1962-ferrari-auctions-for-world-record-us517-million#:~:text=NEW YORK – A 1962 Ferrari,Monday in New York City.
  7. Too bad that one doesn’t have provinces too..? https://www.acme.com/licensemaker/licensemaker.cgi?state=Manitoba&text=ABC+123&plate=1997&r=38540633
  8. This is how the bondic ones looked during the build. I don’t have the model here now, but I can post up a current (5 yrs later) picture in about a week.
  9. And another way of making lens.
  10. Maggot therapy involves the introduction of live maggots into the non-healing skin and soft-tissue wounds of a human or other animal for the purpose of cleaning out the necrotic (dead) tissue within a wound.
  11. I hope you find the time to finish it Andy. Fantastic work all around!? I especially like that scratch built supercharger Idea!?
  12. Language has some really awesome words that are also underused.?
  13. CARtoons magazine was awesome!
  14. There is only one 60 watt bulb for light directly behind you at the model bench.?
  15. I am certainly not a paint expert, but I will kick-start the replies.? I believe the only paints that do not require a primer are lacquers. The lacquer is volatile enough to ever so slightly “melt” the styrene and bite into the surface. I have little experience with enamels so someone may chime in with better info? Good luck with it and welcome to the forums.? Greg.
  16. Corners Quickly was the name of an automotive machine shop and engine builder in Winnipeg.
  17. I drill a boot sized hole clear into the block. Then I shove a short boot into the block to the correct depth and fasten it with CA. Then I ream the boot if necessary to accept the plug wire that I can push in or out to adjust the length.
  18. I’m liking all the modifications you’re doing here Dennis! Carry on.?
  19. Bell bottom pants will eventually come back into style.
  20. Try dipping it in Future/Pledge. It works very well for the Revell Chrom paint.
  21. I think it looks great so far.? I have never built anything bigger than 1/24th scale and I like to add some details. The temptation to go crazy with details on larger scale models must be hard to resist.?
  22. Source your model parts wherever you can find them.
  23. Maybe just a flat clear? I don’t think there’s anything you can do to them that will look as realistic as a clear lens. But if drilling them out is going to destroy the surrounding chrome so that it has to be redone…it may not be worth the work. JMO. Here’s a thread on drilling & replacement if you’re inclined. https://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/180140-how-to-make-clear-headlights-from-chrome-kit-parts/#comment-2787854 https://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/161380-making-headlights/#comment-2452680
  24. And their 30-40% coupons are only good for one item per purchase. If you want multiples, you have to make separate purchases.?
