How to build a Teardrop Trailer
NOBLNG replied to Stanward VonDiederichs's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
That is some amazing scratch building there Stanward!? I love all the little details. I was wondering what the fenders came from…then a bit further down I see you made them from scratch too. Nice work!? -
Toys are not what I want my models called.

71 Olds 442 W30 (replica of my brother in law’s car)

The engine is looking great Steve!? It’s nice having the actual vehicle to take references from.? -
I have a little jeep project that I want to use these Unidirectional tires from a diecast on, and the rims from the Mount’N Goat Jeepster. The tires are way to big for the rims though. So I drilled and filed out the diecast rims to fit the Jeepster rims. Then I filled the crevice between the tire and what’s left of the diecast rim with medium CA and sanded it smooth. I will paint them yet with Tamiya rubber black.

I’m liking the looks of it.?

Any Drawbacks To Using Bondic As A Clear Lense?
NOBLNG replied to oldcarfan's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
The stuff I used for the Corvette headlights IS Bondic brand. The stuff that Gary got (and states is NOT Bondic) apparently has 3 different viscosities which may work better? I found the Bondic to be a little thick and had to poke it with a toothpick to get it to fill the mold. Please let us know how they turn out Gary.? Edit: The UV light supplied with the Bondic is a little anemic, which is maybe why your castings were sticky Pete. IIRC, I flipped them over when out of the mold and cured the other side too. -
Roll bar, roll cage material.....

If you’re planning to do a fair bit of tubing work, a set of bending pliers will make things easier. I got these at Michaels in the jewelry making section. -

Does it need to be hollow? You can buy Half round solid in most smaller sizes. If I had to do it, I would use a piece of.040” thick as a guage. And use a scriber or back of a #11 blade to scribe a line. Flip the tube around and do the opposite side. Gently deepen the scribes until it parts.

Welding wire might be too stiff? I used some soft ceiling t-bar hanging wire. It is very easily bent. -

I don’t know anything about the Plas-T-Rod, but I have used 3/32” Plastruct tube with wire shoved inside to build a roll cage. -
Just arrived home after a month in Mexico…it sure feels nice to sit in my own chair again. Plus it is +1C here and almost no snow.?

Effect of over-imbibing while modelling could result in the need for a do over.
