  2. Looks like it’d be a PITA to wax.

    40 ford

I really dig the stance, the fat white walls and the color.

Nicely done! Beautiful build. Love those tires. They’re a perfect match for that car.
  5. I’m a one at a time guy. Once I near the final assembly stage I’ll break out the next project. I force myself to do it that way. Otherwise, I doubt anything would get finished. The only thing on the bench right now is the AMT ‘53 Ford P/U kit. Between golf and my perpetually mounting honey-do list that one project will probably carry me through summer.
  6. That is one sweet Belvedere. Beautiful detail work inside and out.
  7. I dry-brush the high spots with semi-gloss white enamel. I’ve found that gloss white does not provide enough contrast and satin is too dull for my taste. Of course, there’s more than one way to skin a cat but I really like the effect dry brushing them gives. In fact, I prefer to see chrome molded headlight lenses to clear plastic ones when I pop open a muscle car kit.
  8. I can’t put a finger on exactly why, but I enjoyed the heck out of this build. The color combo is Tamiya Cobalt Green and Tamiya Champagne Gold. I chose the colors because by happenstance the cans were sitting side by side on the bench and I thought they lloked good together. After I painted the body I alternated between hating the colors and liking the colors until I actually finished the detail work and final assembly. Once it was complete I full-on loved the look. I ditched the pizza cutters that came in the kit and put some meatier tires on some 5 spoke Cragar-style rims. I decided to go with the old-school pressure pot supercharger on the 390 and used some skirts from the kit to fashion some dual, offset forced air hood scoops. As always, thanks for looking folks.
  9. That’s a darn fine Coronet! Great color choice.
  10. Spectacular build. There’s just something about a shiny white Superbird.....
  11. Well done. Beautiful detail work on the interior.
  12. I work in Atlanta and live in the ‘burbs so my Audible account really gets to stretch its legs for 2-3 hours each day. I recently re-read The Dark Tower series. Re-read 1984. The 2 best new (to me) reads of late were Cryptonomicon by Neal Stephensen and Gravity’s Rainbow by Thomas Pynchon.
  13. That is one pristine wagon. Beautiful detail work all around. That interior looks comfortable.
  14. Gnarly.
  15. That is an amazing restoration. I love the color and brilliant detail work.
  16. That’s one doggone big beautiful build!
  17. “Fightin’ the system like a true modern day Robin Hood.”
  18. Beautifully done. The General is truly an icon. I think an entite thread titled “Just General Lees” would be pretty cool. I’m sure we’d see a thousand of em on this board.
  19. Also, you’re right. That MPC kit is a dumpster fire.
  20. Man, I love the General. Childhood Friday nights revolved around the Duke boys. I painted mine Hemi Orange over a base of flat tan. I thought it turned out pretty good. I think I read somewhere that the cars for the show were actually painted AMC Big Bad Orange.
  21. That’s a sweet GT350. I dig that color combo. Beautiful work.
  22. Very slick. One of my favorite GMs and my favorite GM color. Any remarks or reviews you would offer on the kit itself? It’s on my wishlist. A positive word on it may convince me to pull the trigger and buy it sooner.
  23. Beautiful Firebird! Interior detail is truly a lobor of love and your build certainly shows it. The entire thing is just top-notch.
  24. That’s a real cherry Belvedere! I love the interior.
