  1. Nice one Mark!
  2. Got so many nice ones you can't keep up with them LOL
  3. Awesome!
  4. True.. I have found Tamiya to be superior as well as Hasegawa having great kits but the inexpensive ones are 4xs the price of these Nascar kits so it hurts worse when I mess up.
  5. I love that paint color
  6. Looking great Dann! No one better sneak up on you while you are working on the parts that's for sure LOL
  7. What do you thin yours with?
  8. The windshield is cracked and has a big groove in it.. It is beyond repair but how do you polish windshields? I've always wondered how to make them look crystal clear. I used to be a little bit of a NASCAR fan but haven't been a fan at all for about 10 years now, however, I like the cars.. they are not my favorite but after building a couple I really like building them. I'm going to be getting more to hone my skills with because they are so fun.
  9. Good to know Jim.. Thanks! I hope to do some with the correct colors someday. Thanks Rider.. I finished it. The windshield was messed up and I am not sure I am even going to put it in but I didn't glue the body on just in case. I also need to put some molotow on the fuel cap and rub out the clear as it fogged on me a little. The exhaust is Molotow chrome, the wheels are Duplicolor Perfect Match Chrome and the interior is Duplicolor Automotive Metallic Chrome.
  10. They're probably putting it together for you LOL
  11. What about craft acrylics? That stuff sprays so nice out of an airbrush... if I could just get a nice clear on it.
  12. I really like Plaza Japan.. their prices are unbeatable, shipping is fast and they box everything securely.
  13. I went to Home Depot today to get a new flapper for the turdlet and stopped by the paint department. They had a large selection of Painter's Touch paints for $4 so I grabbed a can of yellow that I need for my next project and also the Gloss clear. I figured with results like above I've got to give it a try. The can also says it is for plastic so I am hoping it will not craze like I have so much trouble with Duplicolor. I'm really hoping it works well.. if anything I can decant it and use in the airbrush when the weather cools down next month.
  14. I'll be glad when I find something that works consistently for me.
  15. I usually find that eBay ships faster and better than Amazon. With eBay I have gotten kits in as little as a week whereas with Amazon it has taken 8 weeks before. I also find the Hong Kong sellers on eBay to ship the fastest. I got a subaru kit from Amazon and the package was damaged. It was four weeks late and the A pillar was broken. I contacted the seller to get a replacement and they never responded so I contacted Amazon and they gave me a refund and let me keep the broken kit. If the seller would have used a better shipping method like all the other sellers I bought from the damage and delay would not have happened.
  16. Good to know slusher.. thanks I'm going to have to try some Krylon soon.. it is so inexpensive and readily available.
  17. From what I understand lacquer dries faster and harder than enamel and cannot be put on top of enamel.
  18. I'm doing an AMT/ERTL 83' kit right now. I didn't have the right paint and didn't know what to get but I had some Anodized Duplicolor in blue and red and thought it would be cool to try that like a candy coat. I put Duplicolor chrome down first and then applied the Anodized colors. I actually ended up putting down too much blue so I started over because the color was too dark. I tried it again and still got too much color on but it is impossible with the can and the garage is too hot for airbrushing. The anodized red was too dark so I started over and laid down some Tamiya clear red. Still got too much on but it ended up turning out better than I thought. Not true petty colors but maybe a more modern day, candy coat version. There is a lot of paint on this car from all the re-dos but I like it. Going to clear it tomorrow. The red looks a little dark in the pic but it is not like that in person.
  19. Those look awesome Jim! What colors did you use? What are the best colors to use for Petty blue and red?
  20. Here is a picture of Duplicolor Automotive Metallic Series Chrome.. not all that chrome-like, like the lid on the can but works great for certain other metals. Don't use it in humidity or it will take all the shine out of it.
  21. Hey Dale, where is the best place to get this? I know Walmart doesn't carry it.
