  1. Went to HL yesterday and didn't find much new but it did look like they added more accessories (I got BSI 5 minute Epoxy) and paint. I noticed they had Flat Aluminum MM metalizer (buffing) in a spray can now.
  2. Looks great.. what did you chrome the firewall with?
  3. Oh man.. that is a big plus. Is it a lacquer or Acrylic? What other colors of AK do you use?
  4. Tamiya mostly but 3M fine line for the corners. The 3M came up a bit but I think it is because the corners for the tape were where there was a corner in the body. I've always done corners with it on flat surfaces in the past. I need to figure out how to cut the tamiya tape properly in future projects like this where the paint line needs to turn down a corner of the body. Thanks Will.. I am almost finished with it.
  5. Thanks John.. I'm going to check him out. Sounds like AK might be the paint I am looking for...
  6. Looks awesome as usual Jay! I love the weathering too. Is the yellow stripe on the body a decal?
  7. How does the appearance of AK Chrome look compared to Alclad and Molotow? I have been very impressed with every AK metallizer paint job I have seen but I don't remember seeing a chrome paint job. Good to hear that it is durable.
  8. I love Tamiya's chrome... maybe I'll just stick with Tamiya kits
  9. I'm new to all this.. what's so special about the tires?
  10. Looks great Steve! How long did it take you after you started the build?
  11. For $30 an ounce for the Molotow I would say the Alclad is a little less expensive but I have not really investigated further... you do bring up a good point though that I will consider. And the Molotow process is much easier it appears and gurus like Bob Downie love Molotow.
  12. Beautiful!
  13. Another great job! sure doesn't look like a snap kit anymore.
  14. Great job! I like it a lot!
  15. That's one nice looking car!

    Looking really nice so far!
  17. Well... all is not as bad as I thought.. I wish it would have turned out better but after some sanding and a light clear coat and decals, it looks a lot better. The decals have been able to hide a lot. Later I will address the other issues with weathering. When I am finished with decals and the clear coat I am going to paint the inside of the headlights and the top of the dash flat black. I am really loving this kit. I have four more Hasegawa Prototype kits and I am looking forward to them. I will be getting more in the future.
  18. Do you know about how much chrome is in a pen?
  19. Wow, that is a lot! I have a BMW Z4 GT3 by Fujimi that is similar and I am looking forward to getting to it.
  20. Yeah, I guess since this is only my 5th model I shouldn't be too down on myself.. I will fix it tomorrow.. it won't be easy but I am close to finishing this and future paint should be a breeze. I'm just curious, how do you deal with height in paint differences when you do different paint like I did on this? I can feel the paint is higher on the later paint than on the original paint. Do I sand it or let the clear resolve the difference?
  21. I can't believe that killed him.. didn't look like he was going that fast. Wonder where the fault was?
  22. To me, Beverage is a polite name for liquor. Shouldn't this be a beer, whisky or rum model truck and trailer thread?
  23. That looks fabulous! What airbrush did you use and how much did you take out of the pen? Those Molotow refills are expensive compared to Alclad.
  24. I will definitely take note on future builds to see if there is any similarities and report back.
  25. Where'd you get those Hooters Decals?
