  1. Two of my teenage crushes...
  2. Looks awesome!
  3. Yeah, good idea!
  4. Very cool.. Thanks Chris! I'm going to stock up.
  5. Cool.. and thanks! I never would have thought of the knife part.
  6. You are whipping out some cool cars today!
  7. Nice! You are building them fast now... how did you do that keylock on the door handle?
  8. I like your style of "Old" cars. Great collection!
  9. I'm really happy with your Alclad too! And thanks for the tips. What paints do you always have on hand for your engine and chassis work?
  10. Not a great pic but here is the body in primer. I was finally able to get rid of the lines where I glued the back on and another piece that filled one of the tunnels in the body. It took several applications of Tamiya Liquid Surface Primer and a lot of sanding.
  11. I would love to see what a box stock build by a guy with your talent would look like. I would also think you could easily get it done in a week if you didn't have anything else going on. Thanks and you read my mind. I was going to ask if I should apply some Dull-Coat. How much should I apply? These tires have such a low profile there is not much room for anything else. I've read where people drybrush some white paint to weather them a bit and I might try that. I'm also going to apply a little bit of a wash to the center of the wheels.
  12. I can't believe I have let so much time get by without getting much done. I usually knock out one car a month. I've got to get on the ball. I've had some trouble with paint.. if I can ever get the paint mastered it will be easy sailing for me for all builds. I did finish up the wheels and get them assembled. I had to strip them about three times before I got this good enough. The Molotow pen is hard to use in this type of space so I think I will go the Alclad Chrome route the next time. The body is finally primed and just needs a light wet sand before I tape off the white and black areas and spray with the body with Yellow. I think I will use the Duplicolor sandable white primer for the White on this car because it looks really good.
  13. I didn't know that... I knew they made a refill canister but not a spraycan. Though after seeing Chris Sobak's Alclad Chrome I think it might be less expensive and easier to go this route with similar if not better results that Molotow. How is your F1 car coming that I remember seeing in the background of your 1/16 Funny Car thread?
  14. All your work is amazing. What did you use for the valve stems?
  15. Thanks for the heads up Randy... I didn't know about Modelpalooza.
  16. Those seats look just like vinyl or leather... are they plastic? Amazing if so.
  17. Wow... that detail is incredible. Looks awesome!
  18. Hey Chris, I was just re-reading this entire thread to learn more about what you all do and noticed here that you have paint on areas where you would apply adhesive. Do you remove the paint from these parts (like the manifold) to glue other parts to it or do you just use a certain glue/epoxy that will stick to the paint? Also, am I right that if I am going to get some Alclad Chrome (and other Alclad colors) I need to use HoK Black as the base and then clear over that before shooting the Alclad? That chrome looks awesome... everyone raves about the Molotow being the best but your Alclad Chrome looks better to me.
  19. The two of you are my parents age but I used to live in Longwood and Debary. Now I'm in Melbourne.
  20. Welcome Videocast. I am new to the hobby as well and am thinking about hitting the next big model car show here in Florida: http://www.rocketfin.com/southlandz/florida-southlandz-show.cfm
  21. As long as it still shoots a rocket flame I will be happy LOL
  22. I knew it was a Corvette shape and I even thought it would be blue... as I thought the pic of the blue vette in the background was a clue because it looked just like the same shape:
  23. Definitely looks like a new Corvette to me. Maybe one like the blue "Indy" Corvette pictured on the wall.
  24. Favorite that I have owned was my C5
  25. Thanks Jesse, going to one this weekend and another in November so I will see what I can find.
