  1. Looks great Pat... It is crazy that this car is from 1966 when it looks like it could be brand new. Maybe this is why the Ford GT is my favorite car.. it never goes out of style.
  2. I've read all your articles I have been able to get access too and I don't remember ever hearing of that one Bob. What is the liquid cement trick?
  3. Thanks all.. this has been helpful. I find these older kits to be the most affordable I have found as far as race cars that I like to build so I can practice on these first while building my skills. I didn't want to buy anything that might be frustrating. Everyone once in a while I'll find a Danica kit for a great price.
  4. What are your favorite Nascar kits to build? I noticed there are a lot of older Monogram/Revell and AMT kits on ebay for great prices. I was curious what are your favorite kits to buy and build? The brand new Revell kits or older ones and is there a typical kit you look for when you buy.. because there are a lot to choose from.
  5. Thanks Chris! I would love to see you build one of those. I've read that the Tamiya Sauber is one of the most detailed kits out there. That would be perfect for someone with your great talent. Thanks Dann! I've been meaning to get some of that the next time I place an online order because they don't have it in any stores around here. I might get the Lacquer in the bottle too. Thanks Pat! I didn't get much done this weekend. I primed the body and found a couple of seams that I needed to fill and sand some more. I painted the wheels and realized the Duplicolor Acrylic Lacquer White paint I painted them with didn't work well for putting on the Molotow Chrome. I thought my pen was out of paint but it just didn't want to adhere to the paint. I used the same paint on another part and it pulled away with the masking tape after I applied another color so maybe it is the paint. I did get the instrument panel and steering wheel completed. It looks a lot better to the eye than with my old iPhone 5.
  6. Looks great.. it will be nice to see your process.
  7. Can't wait to see that. The Ford GT40 is one of my favorites.. I'd love to have a new one in my garage.
  8. Great job Pat.. I was thinking today that it was about time for you to put out another kit. I always enjoy seeing your work.
  9. Looks great.. what did you paint the bottom with that made it look like metal?
  10. Lou... I've got to see your Sprint Cars.. I'm doing my first one when I complete the model I am working on now. I love the look of Sprint Cars and I'm sure yours look incredible.
  11. I think it would be fun to take it apart and rebuild it just to learn more about how engines work. Something that would not be as convenient with a full sized version because of weight and size issues. It surprises me how much they sound like the full sized engines. I thought they would all sound like chainsaws or lawn mowers.
  12. You've got some serious talent Louie.. These look fantastic. I can't wait to try some Pro Stocks. I've got a lot to learn though.
  13. Actually that Hobby Town I referred to (in Melbourne) might make a good pit stop for you. It is just a quarter mile off I 95 at 192. It has a nice supply of plastic models and supplies at decent prices. Lots of RC stuff. https://www.google.com/maps/dir/''/hobbytown+usa/@28.0783524,-80.7680577,12z/data=!4m8!4m7!1m0!1m5!1m1!1s0x88de0e9f956b23bb:0x248cf5de95ee69e8!2m2!1d-80.6980174!2d28.0783702 I was born in the summer of '69 and grew up in NLR
  14. Nothing on the Space Coast unless you like Hobby Town. Were you born in 69'?
  15. Curious what everyone thinks about this post? I found it in a search recently: It is the 6th post by E St. Kruiser50 if you click and it doesn't go straight to it
