  1. Great job! You didn't forget anything after 15 years. Wish I could find that kit for that price and then I could justify the aftermarket decals.

  3. Thanks.. I'll be curious to see if mine and other's HLs also have these deals. I just picked up the Polar Lights McEwen Barracuda Funny Car last week for $19 with 40% off. If I could have gotten it for $7.49 I would have gotten three.
  4. Looks great.. I have one of these on the way and I hope I can do it half as good as yours.
  5. Welcome Munchies!
  6. I've heard of this guy.. I think I might be distantly related as he has the same last name and grew up very close to my great grandfather. At least it would be cool if we were Wish I would have known about him when I lived in Indiana as a kid and went to the 500 every year. Also wish I would have known about him when I was a young man and worked on a RCCL cruise ship out of Miami. We sailed by Fisher Island twice a week and I always wondered about it. Thanks for posting this as I didn't know there was a book.
  7. Looks really good!
  8. I almost won this kit a couple of weeks ago in an eBay auction but there was someone bidding against me and I wasn't sure how high they would go but they got it for $30 dollars. This is very detailed kit as I understand it.
  9. Looks really good
  10. I know this is probably a problem with most people here but I don't mind. I do wish they made Funny Cars and Nascars though. I don't even think Revell makes Funny Cars anymore. I mostly like newer road racing cars and racing bikes so it works well for me.
  11. Welcome Tommy
  12. I hold a straw larger in diameter than the nozzle up against the nozzle opening. Then I put the other end of the straw in a jar/container safe for lacquer and slowly squeeze the nozzle down. I use lacquer thinner for lacquer based paints... also for enamel if the can you have is enamel.

    Looks awesome!
  14. After getting my first Tamiya kit I doubt I will buy another Revell or any other unless they up their quality. Tamiya's quality is far above the Revell kits I have. I have a Hasegawa to try next though.
  15. It looks great! I think you won the race here on the forums
  16. Man, that looks awesome... and you are building it so fast.
  17. Very nice... I love it!
  18. Looks awesome Jim!
  19. I've been wanting to get this one so I am looking forward to the rest of your build. It is surprising how expensive this kit is especially considering the parts count.
  20. that right there is a sleeper.
  21. I just opened this one up... This Polar LIghts kit seems to be better quality that the other funny car kits I have. I had never heard of Polar Lights before, are they known for better quality? The kit has a lot more pieces and the chrome plating looks much better as do the other pieces on the sprues.
  22. Yes I agree Mark... I have seen Clay's work here and it is equally good. I watched their interviews over at Scale Auto where they both do articles (as everyone knows) and they give each other credit and are friends. They have some desktop wallpaper of their work for subscribers too. That is how I found out about Dave.. did a little search and found some YT videos he did for Gravity Colors that I am going through and learning from. Hopefully I can find more tutorials and articles by him and Clay to learn from them both. In Clay's interview they started the video off with some of his builds and they were incredible and the type of builds I enjoy the most... just like Dave's.
  23. Man.. that looks really nice. Can't wait to see it complete with some drag cars on it.
  24. Holy smokes what a superb build! Where does Dave post his work these days?
