  1. This is a push-up but I was really trying to do a play on words from the Van Halen song "Ice Cream Man"
  2. Some Hobby Lobby's have the Paasche H for $25. I go the Paasche H set at HL for $25 and the VL set for $34 this past week.
  3. Do you have all flavors of push-ups too? Great build Pat!
  4. Awesome.. I love me some Lambos. If you could get some pics of some of your masking I would appreciate it
  5. It is.. I was amazed at how I could dial down the paint volume and just sit in one place for a while slowly building up paint in hard to reach areas. The paint was dry as soon as it hit the surface. Then if I needed to put a lot of paint out it would and that was just with the #3 needle. I still have the #1 and #5. Tremendous control.
  6. I didn't notice.. I wasn't paying attention because I was there looking for markers and not the Molotow and had my arms full of the reduced items I got a pic of above... so it might have been there but I didn't notice it.
  7. none at mine. By accident today I noticed that for the same price in the sharpie isle, you can get the Molotow Chrome Pens in a larger size. Same tip sizes but the body of the pen is much larger.
  8. Very nice!
  9. Oh man.. that looks so cool. I've got to get one of these. I know the Tamiya kit is highly detailed... how detailed is this one?
  10. If that is you in the pic of your avatar you will live up to your shirt on these Do you have a time frame? I personally am trying to pump out as many as I can being new to the hobby just so I can get experience with the process and perfect it. Practice makes perfect and repetition is the mother of all skill. My latest build has slowed me down a bit.. looks like it is going to take me 3 weeks instead of two. But my skill level is not near what yours is. I do think the three I have built look really good sitting on display though and I can't wait to get a lot more in there. When I more perfect the process I will take more time slowly adding more details to each kit. At my level I'd probably quit the hobby if I couldn't see finished results in 2 weeks or less.
  11. I was in love with McCormick's Coyote in the 80s. Always wanted one.. wish I would have found this back then.
  12. Forgot to mention for all of you with kids or grandkids.. they had a real cool "Cars" Revell kit reduced too.
  13. I would love to know how you did that and see more of your work. How'd you learn all this cool stuff?
  14. Went back today and all the race cars were gone (which I got most but not all). All the other cars were still there and they added some new planes and other items. They had a Paasche VL for $34 so I had to get that. Two weeks ago I bought a Paasche H set off of Amazon for more than I got both the upgraded (glass bottle) H set and the VL set for from Hobby Lobby so I sent it back to Amazon and got a refund. I don't know much about the Iwata airbrush paint set but for $7 I figured I'll give it a try. I'm assuming the pine derby acrylic paints are the same as the plastic model acrylics. I didn't see the transparent black lacquer spray paint last week but they had one bottle left. I cleaned out the lacquer spray paints last week but they had more today. The trans black was up with the enamels and I skipped those. I posted what I got last week but here is a pic of the booty from today
  15. That's a great idea Dann.. I'm going to have to make one of these.
  16. Wow.. these are amazing!
  17. Nice.. thanks Gerald. I've never found that before. I didn't see a build thread by MoparMike but he did post some great pics in that thread. Looks really good and now I am looking forward to building it.
  18. Cool... I bought one of these the other day at HL. It is the least expensive of all their drag cars. I was hoping they would put it on clearance like the others but they didn't. I would have gotten more. Yours will be the first one I've seen built. I did an internet search and couldn't find any completed build pictures. All I have seen is the box art and it doesn't have pics of the built model I don't believe. Looking forward to seeing yours completed because I have wondered what it will look like. Looks great so far!
  19. I don't like the Beatles but watched this the other day and really enjoyed it. Paul seems like a great guy... and definitely doesn't need the rest of the band to pull off that Beatles sound.
  20. LOL.. I am brand new to all this and the terms do leave me scratching my head sometimes. I remember looking at one of the ScaleAuto Contest Car magazines and it said the guy wired his tachometer.. and I'm thinking WTH did he do that for... do they have working gauges?
  21. I understand now and that is what I thought but wanted to be sure. Thanks again for sharing your tips and work
  22. Thanks for the explanation Dann.. I do understand this but the post before I am not understanding if you transfer your used mask to cardboard or if you make the template in cardboard first and then transfer it back to Tamiya tape? Whatever you do it works perfectly
  23. Great work Dann! I just read all your posts on this entire thread. I think I have a good idea (even though I am new to all this) of everything you have done except how do you mask and paint all that fine detail work like on your dash and doors. For instance the round leather piece on the center of the steering wheel.. how did you perfectly mask and paint that or the silver parts on the doors, etc. Small detail painting is my biggest struggle. Thanks for sharing your work.
  24. Thanks! I learn a little more each day.
  25. Very nice... did you paint the wheel weights with a brush?
