Nice builds, Rex! I agree - these kits sure hold their value. -
Thanks for the support!

Thanks, Snake! That’s kinda why the body isn’t primed yet - I keep finding stuff to sand LOL

Thank you Eric, Gary, and Scott! -
What did you see on the road today?

That’s a beautiful Murci - and a Spyder at that! -
Welcome aboard, Don!

I found this in a box of old model cars that my Dad built in the early '90s. This is the 1989 release 1:43 scale AMT kit. It sure is a survivor - it's seen everything from bitter cold Winters sitting on a shelf in a garage, to sweltering hot Summers packed away in a box in an attic. The last pic includes a ruler to show how small it is.

Got some more parts primed, sanded the Revell lettering off of the chassis, and glued the side scoops into the body.

Just checking in. How are the builds coming along? -
Great looking Galaxie - nice build, Chris!

Do you prime all pieces
Hotrod 97 replied to youpey's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Usually I only prime the larger parts such as the body, chassis, rear, and engine block. Unless it’s molded in color - then I prime everything. -

Got the chassis, rear axle assembly, oil pan, and engine in primer. I also assembled the exhaust and sanded the mold lines.
-
Got the engine partially assembled and ready for primer. I'm going to attach the oil pan after I paint the transmission. I also got the carburetor assembled. The carb base from the Mach 1 broke, so I used the full carb from the Boss 302.

I've been test fitting some parts from a '69 Boss 302 - the corrected front end will fit with little to no modification needed, I’m going to modify the hood from the Boss 302 since the Mach 1 hood didn’t line up right, and I think I'm going to add a little nod to the Boss by using the rear window louvers.

Got some stuff for the Mach 1 today. A ‘69 Boss 302 for donor parts, flat black, Glosscote, Arctic Blue Metallic, and some Pledge Revive It to experiment on finishes with. Has anyone used that stuff before?

I did some experimenting with paint and primer colors. I discovered something that I'm pretty happy with for the Mach 1 - Testors Arctic Blue Metallic over gray primer.

Looks great!

Got the engine block halves glued together and sanded. Next step is to finish the block assembly and get it in primer.
