  1. Yep, this is the Revell kit. Thank you for the heads-up about the front end - I’ll have to look into the resin replacement. Good idea, Rex! Now to find a spare Boss 302 body to experiment on...LOL.
  2. Thanks for the support! This is the old Revell 1989 Hot Rod release.
  3. This is my new(ish) entry for the 50 Years of Mach 1 community build. It was part of a learning experience, but I don’t think any of the parts have been modified. Anyways, I’m going to build this one like my 1:1 scale dream car. It’ll be Acapulco Blue with Gold and White decals. I found some rims in the parts bin from a ‘68 Shelby that I think will look good on it.
  4. Any suggestions for a spray paint that best matches Ford Acapulco Blue? I don’t have an airbrush yet (maybe one day...), so spray cans are pretty much my only option right now. I also would like to stay away from automotive paints, as I do not have much experience with them.
  5. Very sharp ‘67! I followed as soon as I saw “Roush 427” in the title
  6. My greatest apologies for all who were following this build. I am still very new to modifying, fabricating, and scratch building model car parts. At this point in time, modifying the Shelby to work with the Mach 1 is beyond my current ability. It will happen someday, I just would like to have a bit more experience before I try to modify a not-so-common kit (the Mach 1). So, with that being said, I will build this as my 1:1 scale dream car - a stock 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 428CJ in Acapulco Blue. Again, apologies for completely changing the build plans this late through the build.
  7. Looks good so far, Roy! That’ll look nice with the white interior!
  8. Looks like a great start, TJ! I’m looking forward to seeing what paint color you choose for it.
  9. Everything about this build is just awesome! Nice work, Geno!
  10. I hear tell that there’s already one sitting in a garage somewhere around here...of course, I haven’t seen it for myself, just heard rumors of it.
  11. Sanded out the "orange peel" in the primer. Before: After: Next step is to figure out how to make the front of the Shelby frame fit onto the Mach 1 chassis.
  12. Got the engine block and oil pan in primer.
  13. Thank you all for the replies! I think I’ll go with JB weld since it’s the only thing mentioned that I have right now. That is a rather unique sounding setup.
  14. If this is in the wrong section, I apologize. I wasn't quite sure where to put it. This badge is from my Uncle's Mercury Monarch. I'd like to keep it for sentimental reasons. How would I go about gluing it back together? JB weld? Something different? Thanks in advance!
  15. Thanks, Bruce!
  16. I got the engine block assembled and changed my plans (again) on the chassis. I'm going to cut the front of the frame (from the firewall forward) off the Shelby, and modify it to fit the Mach 1 chassis. This should be the last time I change the build plans...
  17. Here are some more of my favorites. Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird Lockheed F-117 Nighthawk
  18. Here are mine. Again, just my humble opinion Martin JRM Mars water bomber North American P-51 Mustang Beechcraft 58 Baron Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress
  19. Looks awesome! Nicely done, Ray!
  20. That is a beautiful color combo.
  21. Happy 4th, Roy! Nice entry build!
  22. No problem! Slow going or not, you're doing great! Keep up the good work!
  23. Thanks, Keith! I look forward to building it!
