  1. lmao Gene! I lose it every time I see that. ...Merry Chistmas
  2. My '57 300...Testors Firey Orange lacquer over black primer. If you have an auto body and paint supply store near you, you can get a spray can made of true Mopar Dark Burnt Orange Metallic. Code K5 (1970)
  3. I'm looking at a can of Lime Ice one coat lacquer. '2015 The Testor Corporation....same address', So my super sleuthing abilities tell me that Rust-Oleum acquired them sometime between then and now . As for paint quality, I've done a couple kits with the lacquer and loved the results. Metal flake scales fairly well with the lacquer IMO (so far). I am getting ready to do the Lindberg Big Red Rod in the lime ice. I think it was Testors that did the Colors by Boyd line (enamel?) in the '90's. IIRC some of those flake colors didn't scale out too well but the choices were great.
  4. I'm currently modeling my friend's 1:1 '61 Strato Chief 4 door from the Mobius Catalina kit. I have a '54 Chevy? six for it and options for a better one as well. Yours is a fantastic representation. Best I've seen. Great work on everything...and thanks.
  5. What's the source of that engine? Scratch or from a kit?
  6. yup, gotta be black. are you leaning to the movie look or tv look? I think it could look killer with the orange pin striping
  7. The dog in the back seat is a weird breed lol. Nice work. That grill is a sweet touch.
  8. Ha, what a twist. Never woulda thought there was a Merc engine hiding in that Capri. ..... MERCury. nice touch. If it had a beat up set of the red one's wheels it would be the spitting image of the car my neighbor's daughter had. She was more than twice my age but as an 8 year old I knew a pretty girl with a cool car when I saw one! she
  9. always cool to see a bandit model, great job on the decals. pinstripe decals (monogram monte ss, hurst olds etc) always give me fits especially if its an older kit. they like to curl and flip and break and....arg! ps. loved Burt. one of his 'worst' movies is one of my favorites. Stroker Ace
  10. IMHO The Mach 5 never looked better although I confess I'm not much of a cartoon car fan. You nailed an early 60's concept Sebring car or the like if one was unaware of Speed Racer. Well Done!
  11. I just did this kit. you definitely want to get that front and rear on first. the fit is kinda crappy and you can tweak it to fit right this way. body fits on just fine as its based on the die cast version. this is the fit after pre assembly and sanding. the front seemed like it came from another kit it fit so poorly and the rear was about 1/16th wider than the body. this has always been the case as far as I've ever seen on several mustang kits over the years
  12. lovin the restomod flavor

    '57 Corvette

what a gorgeous colour combo. all the sexy! that air filter makes that engine! nice
  14. Yup, just Yup!!!!!, nicey nice. my uncle had a white one, great work
  15. but seriously, qwik build. badly warped body and chassis but really fun nostalgia build, did a couple of these back in the day and came across this lil gem at my lhs for cheap. they had a bunch of open oldies that the shop owner found somewhere. had a tire melted on the trunk lid and no decals. this will get a lil more weathering (engine too clean) before I call it done plus a couple more details. luggage rack is a quick scratch. but for now it's just freshly detailed to get it out of my driveway!!! thanx Lloyd
  16. For sale, 1990 mercury cougar XR7. 147xxx km. Newer tires and brakes. 3.8L supercharged. Manual trans. working cruise, PW and AC. 2nd owner. Mint tan leather interior (non smoker). Some light rust. No accidents. May need 02 censors or cat converter to pass emissions but runs great. $1600 AS IS. No low ballers. I know what I got. Call 1-321-555-1234
  17. Just watched the Skoda Yeti segment. haven't seen that in a while. That's just good entertainment.
  18. Almost had one of these back around 2000. $5k was all he wanted. It was solid, straight, 383 powered and pretty much ready to resto or go. Came back with the cash and he sold it to a friend. I was a young 20 something and he didn't think I'd come back. His 'friend' let it rot next to his garage for the next year and I got to see it all the time because he lived by the golf course my friends and I liked. Couldn't find anything else I wanted as much in that price range and now a good one that that is just too much.
  19. It's a total shame. Of all the famous people that go down for the big crimes he has to be one of the most mind blowing ones. Bill was a brilliantly funny icon but mostly...... nuts to him. When you do what he did, see ya, bye!
  20. lol, I see what you did there. ;P
  21. Fans only if we could please? I know not everyone is a fan. Thanks My favorite is the Alpha Romeo Challenge, followed by Budget super cars (NO, it's not a kit car. It's a Lamborghini....Philistine; James May)
  22. If you have an auto body/paint supply shop near you they can make a rattle can of just about any color. I've done that for many projects on 1:1's. My local shop uses Nason. I've never shot a kit before though. I would definitely recommend a good prep job with a good primer/sealer because I am not sure how 'hot' that paint is with styrene. From my experiences, with careful application the results should be just spiffy! I will be able to tell you this weekend though as I will be doing this to a Prowler in Chryco PS4 Platinum metallic.
  23. gorgeous take on my personal all time fav, nice work
  24. Good idea, poor execution. Want some style?, you must Mopar
  25. A real beauty, my favorite Red Head, great work!
