The old kit is hideously inaccurate as a representation of an actual Kurtis midget. I give a lot of leeway to Atlantis whose business model is explicitly nostalgia reissues rather than selling specifically kits meant to be built into accurate models depicting real life objects. If the new Kurtis Midget kit had been released with the V8-60 and Offy in the same box and with 100% licensed liveries at a premium price it would have likely been a success similar to those enjoyed by Salvinos JR or Moebius or NuNu when it comes to vintage racing subjects kits. In modeling in the 21st century, there is no sense trying to beat Round 2 in the race to the bottom.

This is a really fantastic build of one of the Speedway's most celebrated cars! -
Atlantis 1/16 Green Elephant Vega Funny Car

A little flashy but nothing too awful particularly at the price point. Congrats to Atlantis for getting this one across the finishing line. -
1964 Ford GT40 #12 Le Mans

Positively love the combination to make such a nice replica of one of the less glamorous but no less important examples of the GT40. -
It really does look like a great piece. Between Belkits and Nunu there's scarcely been a better time to be a vintage rally builder.

Italeri Ferrari 275 gtb

I'll be keeping an eye on this. Those 275GTB kits are so rarely built and this one looks like it's getting extra care. -
These look really great. The Monogram MG TC is one of those kits I keep promising myself I'll watch out for.

Genuinely a pretty build of a very pretty car. These aren't easy kits to work with but they are so worth it.

A brief box-stock project that I'm enjoying. This is the Tamiya 1/20th scale 1979 Ligier JS11. The kit decals were toast on account of the age of the kit, so I'm using a set from Indycals which will allow me to build the car numbered and lettered for Jacky Ickx's brief time as a stand-in for the injured Patrick Depallier. Color is Mr Color C-34 Sky Blue under Tamiya TS-13 Clear.

1/25 AMT '64 Olds Cutlass 442 Hardtop

Is the trim at least proud enough of the body sides that a few passes with a good scriber would sharpen it up to make it easier to foil or to mask and spray with the chrome of your choice? (lately Vallejo Metal Color for me) -
Looks like after some fits and starts the Aoshima Zonda is happening. Here it is in test shot form at the ongoing 2021 Shizuoka show.

In my daily check-in for product arrivals at my distributors, I came across these two announcements from Gofer. #1108 "Ford 427 Competition Engine" and #1130 "Top Fuel Dragster Frame". They surely LOOK like Revell Parts Pack kits so I'm wondering is this a private label deal with Atlantis or what's the word?

Any up dates on the Moebius chevy II gasser ?
Justin Porter replied to Mr mopar's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
The more I look at the side window opening on this body the more it seems bizarrely off and the more I question "How did this happen?" I mean, I can get things like scaled examples of compound curves being a little open to interpretation but this is literally the distance between two parallel lines divided by 25. -
This looks really fantastic. The color, the wheel & tire package, and the stance all really set it off.

Design Pitch: MPC Retro "Forever 80s" collection

I'd have to agree on this. Restoring the tooling with an accurate wheel & tire combination and making it so that those sidepipes are just an optional extra would be something I'd welcome. -

A lovely build of one of Tamiya's finest F1 kits. -
Looks like such a great model of an interesting little car. Definitely like how it turned out!

Monogram 55 Chevy Street Machine Magneto

Good image showing the top of a typical Vertex style magneto from that time period. -
Looks absolutely lovely to me.
