Cheers Adam, after seeing your work, I take it as a real compliment that you like my build. The headlights are kit items. There were some other lenses included in the kit, but they were flatter and had a hole in the centre of 'em. I chose to use these deep-domed lenses, simply because I liked the look of 'em.

Thankyou for the compliments! I just thought I'd add this info: The MCG photo- etched grille is quite difficult to fit. The kit part has a compound curve (It curves both vertically and horizontally) Making the thin nickel photo-etched part curve accordingly was almost impossible. Initially, I tried to install it directly to the grille surround, but epoxy or CA just couldn't seem to hold the shape. Eventually, I decided to mount the PE part directly onto the de-chromed kit grille, to give a more solid platform. I just thought I'd add this bit of info, in case anyone else decided to give it a go. If anyone has a better suggestion, please feel free to post your tip here. I've got another one of these kits and I'll probably use the PE grille again. Having said that, I saw a nice one in 2009 Contest Cars with a LaSalle grille, but I dunno where to get one of those (does anybody know the answer to this?)

Crikey! You sure do have a lot of natural talent! I love your style. Very convincing photography, too. -
Outstanding skills. Lovely details, too. Excellent choice of tyres. For me, they really make this build seem more realistic. The patched chop, the chipped paint on the suspension...So much to like about this model. Even my wife commented on how good it looks, which is praise indeed!

That is tres, tres bon! 10/10 for rarity, execution, colour choice and for sharing your excellent work with us. I REALLY like this model. It doesn't need anything else...it's perfect.

Nice work buddy! I love the black n white combo. Can I make a couple of tiny suggestions? Try sanding the seam off the tyres...it looks nicer and helps the tyre make better ground contact. The hubs on the inside of the wheels would look better in gunmetal or black, in my humble opinion. Not disrespecting your build in any way...I love it. It's just that these tiny details make a lot of difference. I hope you don't mind me saying this.

Wow! Yours is a replica of the one I saw on Google Images, which was my inspiration. Did you chop yours or get the body from Bandit Resins? You also got yours to sit lower than mine. Maybe I should've used smaller rear tyres.... Seeing yours, I now wish I had also made my fender skirts like yours. I prefer the way you've done them.

Thanks guys, here's a side-profile pic:

Thanks Peter, nice of you to say so. The red has a gold pearl to it. It's actually a Lamborghini colour. I think it looks better with the naked eye, because stereoscopic vision enables the sheen of the pearl to come alive. It's subtle, but looks really nice in real life. Pity the camera doesn't fully capture this effect....

Finally got it under glass. I think I might've invented new cuss-words during the final stages of this build. I learned a lot from making/ modifying this kit. Hopefully the next one will be easier! I scratchbuilt the following: Tail lights Exhaust & tips Fuel lines Wiper Bullet wheel centres Aftermarket parts used: Revell Parts Pak Cadillac engine P.E. grille P.E. dynamo bracket Turned alu distributor & coil Resin louvre transfers A bit of BMF I hope you like it, I've tried to keep it traditional... Let me know what you think, guys. I appreciate feedback

Finished it now. Final pics are in 'under glass' section. Thanks for looking

Thanks guys. Ted, you're right, I added the louvres after I decided to go with the 6 carb set-up. I reckoned an engine like this needs more air! They're resin on waterslide carrier film. I got them from www.archertransfers.com They do sheets of rivets and other surface detail stuff, too.

I couldn't resist a mock-up before I go to bed... thanks for looking. It should be 'under glass' very soon

Lol! Glad I'm not the only one who thinks kit alternators defy the laws of physics! I've used those DM brackets. They might not be 100% correct on my builds, but to the casual observer, they look alright, which is good enough, especially as I'm the only one who knows they are there. You look like you've nailed it with your solution.

I NEED SOME FEEDBACK ON THIS BUILD

You could always just dress-up the stock grille. Maybe add a grid of pinheads? I like the suggestion of an Edsel grille with canted Desoto style headlights. -
Nearly done. There will be a bit more tweaking of suspension and I've got to make solder exhaust pipes. The fenders are missing from this pic as they were in the process of having the black rubber treads applied to the running boards. Here's the MCG grille. It's going to be tricky to fit this as the points of contact are very small: Here are the parts ready for final fit. Thanks for looking

Got more done. Added some red glass to the rear 3 windows and a nice bit of pinstriping from Slixx: There are some really nice little details on what, at first, seems to be a basic and simple kit. Take the engraving on the centre of the steering wheel, for example. I applied BMF, painted it, them gently rubbed off the high spots with some thinner to expose the foil: I made some rear lights for it, too. A bit of alu tube and some red sprue turned in my Dremel did the job: More pics soon thanks for looking

I've been busy....My camera has been on the other side of the planet for a while, so here are the update shots: I made fuel lines from thin rubber, tinted red with a sharpie. The engine is a Revell Parts Pak Caddy (331ci? Correct me if I'm wrong..) MCG photoetch bracket on dynamo, DM distributor. I also decided that a big 6 carb set-up would need to breathe, so I added some louvres: More pics soon

I have the exact same kit awaiting my attention. Yours is like a masterclass on the correct way to build this kit. Outstanding work. I love the details and little touches you added. The door catches, the roll cage... Oh, by the way, I think the wheels are spot-on. So is the colour. I thought you'd used a Ross Gibson engine...it looks that good. I like modern takes of vintage iron.

Cheers everyone. The strange array of cuts, were so that I could avoid cutting into the fabric panel in the middle of the roof. I realized I wanted to keep the angle of the windshield and the rear window. Stretching the roof by cutting around the centre panel seemed the obvious choice. I had a good look at reference photos of 1:1 chops. Some guys seem to have used this method to great effect. Anyway..right or wrong..it worked!

Beautiful build. So crisp and tidy. Very sharp execution of this kit. Your paint is awesome! You have also just reminded me to contact the seller on eBay who still needs to send me this kit. I paid £25 for mine, which is way over the odds, but they're rare in Europe. Now I've seen what can be done with them, I'd say it's money well spent!

I dig it daddio! Far out! Seriously, it's a nice build. Good colour and very crisp construction. Wheels look great!

I have one of these kits awaiting my attention. I like the blackened chrome. I'm sure I've seen a lime green/black version of this online. Nice work. I like it a lot. These cars look mean, dangerous and handsome all at the same time!!

Enjoying watching this build. Detail Master make really nice turned alloy with phtoetch distributors. A bit fiddly, but worth it. I have also used alu tube sleeved over a kit distributor. Cut the height of the kit part, cram 9 stripped wire outers into a section of tube, leaving the centre one a bit taller that the rest, whack it onto the kit part and glue it. Stuff the (trimmed to length) plug wires into the empty wire sleeves. Here's a pic of one I made:
