Here are some more pics I hope you like it. Thanks for looking

This was a nice kit to build. Good fit and nicely engraved. The decals were a bit fragile, but they're 20+ years old I guess. I have never seen a real one of these cars, but I love the lines. Very unusual. I added the usual: PE brackets, ignition wires, battery cables etc. I used rattle can paint and a bit of elbow grease for the finish, a bit of flocking and BMF, topped off with some wheels from Pegasus. I thought of going for a mad paint job, but I haven't built anything near box stock in a while, so I admit I went for an easy time, without getting bogged down in experiments. Anyway, enough blurb. Here are the pics: more pics to follow

tremendous skills, Dave you have an abundance of vision, imagination and creativity and I'm looking forward to the finished pics, just as much as I'm enjoying the progress.

Cheers guys. Thanks for the nice comments. I did consider a black hood Harry, but I decided that the flowing contours of the nose, extending out to the tops of the fenders, would look better without a split in the colour.

LOL! Highly original and very funny. A car with a story. I like it. By the way...the USA got off lightly compared to their (TG's) opinions of Albania! It's only a TV show...please don't forget that. My Dad hates Clarkson. His solution...? Change the channel.

You're a living legend, John. I have often found inspiration from looking at your work. Your skills are the level to which I aspire. This car cooler than a Bose-Einstein condensate! Your photography is excellent, too. It does your work real justice. Now I really must learn how to use an airbrush!

Outstanding! I think the paint pattern looks a bit Art Deco..which looks very crisp. The chassis/floor pan as well....and the engine..nothing left untouched! I hope you're pleased with it. You should be!

Great stuff, Ira! You have a lot of imagination and skill

superb! Antennae look great as do the side trim pieces, Nice work under the hood, too.

Here's a shot of the interior. I just used flat and semi-gloss black and some BMF on the dashboard. I added an indicator stalk made from fuse wire and opted for the kit's Hurst pistol-grip shifter. I dunno bout you, but if I suddenly saw this grille in my rearview mirror, I'd get out of the way!

I bought htis kit on a whim a few years ago...didn't really know what I was going to do with it, but it was only a tenner. google rersearch brought up the well-known Biohazard 1:1 car. I decided that all chrome should be black and it needed a roll cage. (which I made from styrene rod) Wheels are Aoshima Watanabe's. I dropped the suspension, added plug wires, battery cables and wires from the dynamo. The paint is rattle can (A Chrysler hue: Snakeskin Pearl Effect) and has a nice gold glitter inside the lime green. There were two engines in the kit (I think there's a pro street version as well as the stock version) so I opted for the Hemi and the more racy looking headers and pipes. There was a bit of filling and bodywork to do, in order to get it all straight. The chrome was actually some of the best I've encountered on a kit and in a way a shame to destroy it, but once I decide on an idea, there's no going back.... I also added heater hoses and drilled brake discs (Pegasus)

It's the fineness of the shine that makes this look so real. Very well balanced and executed. Inspirational.

Nice job, man. I just bought one of these (a re-issue) I fancy having a crack at it, not only as I think it looks good, but also because it has a reputation for being less straightforward than some more modern kits. You did it proud.

Ed, you nailed it. Top work mate. Makes mine look basic by comparison. Gotta up my game! -
I love this hobby!!! So much talent, imagination and creativity out there. I shy away from stock models and racecars that need to be built the 'correct' way. I appreciate technical accuracy and so-on, but rods, rat or otherwise, allow for much greater scope of originality. So, with that in mind, I decided to have a go at a rat rod. Here's my attempt: I just realized that the clue is in the topic title...and it's not friday today. I hope it's not a capital offence.

I like the way you mixed media to create the desired effects. The weathering is very convincing and the metal really does look realistically contorted. Now I know what I'm going to do if I screw up a build...wreck it!!!

A real crowd-pleaser! How did you do the checkerboard firewall, was it a decal?
-
Very crisp, Geoff. Looks like you got everything lined-up just right. The colour combo is a good choice. Lovely shine on the paint, too.

It's like I can smell oil and old leather when I look at this... Cool.
