Thank you Steve! I had an 85 Turbo-Coupe, and I LOVED it! Traded it for an 87 Merkur XR4Ti, which had the same engine and tranny, but a more agile chassis with an IRS. Loved it also, and traded it for an 88 XR4Ti... great souvenirs! A few years later, I bought back the 87 from a friend who had it since I traded it. My wife drove it for years, and then my oldest daughter. CT

'71 Boss Mustang with widebody kit and LED lighting...
Claude Thibodeau replied to SpikeSchumacher's topic in Model Cars
Hi Mathias! Very nice model. I love the color. This Mustang body style is the one which responds the best to the "wide-body" conversion. Bravo! CT -

Nova Salt Flat Racer
Claude Thibodeau replied to Pierre Rivard's topic in WIP: Other Racing: Road Racing, Land Speed Racers
Salut Pierre! I have built 6 or 7 Bonneville cars in the last few years, but only last year did I get the chance to make friend with fellow forum user MUNCIE, who happens to race 1/1 cars on tle lake. So, he was generous enough to send me one of the latest rule books. Needless to say, I now try to make sure that my cars "would pass inspection". I don't think I can add anything to your creativity, but if you'd like to consult the rules, we should find a way to get the book to you. For instance, I'll be at the Trois-Rivières show on sunday the 27th. If you plan to be there, or have a friend who'll attend, let me know.I'll bring it with me. CT -

Hi Tim! While I never met Mister Sherman, I exchanged with him many times on this forum. He was always encouraging and came up with good advice. Sorry to learn of his passing. CT

Salut Pierre! Wow, what an unusual subject for Bonneville, but unique and very well detailled. Can't wait to see it complete! CT -

Hi Mark! Thanks for the comments. I kept the sidewalls of the front tires, and as you can tell, I joined the two slivers at the center. Makes for a cleaner job. Now, to your suggestion: I agree it would be fun, but this is my second aeroBird in a few years. The previous one was a mash-up of the Monogram Pro-Stock kit with the 1987 Turbo-coupe chassis & interior, plus a transplant of the rear quarter-panels at the wheel opening level, to recreate the OEM look (see pics below). Funny fact: I happen to have the 41 Lincoln caps, because I used the kit to make an all-out custom (see pic below). The fact the MKVII is more "squarish" makes it less appealing to my eyes. Oh well... However, I know our fellow modeler Steve Hayden (see his post on this thread below) IS willing to take this challenge. And I know he's the right guy to make this endeavour a success! Regards, CT
