  1. Hi Stef! Thanks for the praise. But it is just a curbside, for the reasons explained above. I've built much more detailed so-called "contest models", but this one was just a styling exercise. Happy you like it, and please feel free to try someting of your own. What could go wrong with a beautiful design to start with? LOL Here's one more side view. CT
  2. Hi Alex! Masterfull, and brimming with details. Bravo! CT
  3. Thanks Paul! I stived to do something less traditionnal with the door cards. Happy you like it. CT
  4. Thanks Glen! Everytime I painted a model with this colour, I had great feedback. Tamya must be on to something...LOL CT
  5. Thanks Jon! I must admit that starting from such an iconic car makes things easier... CT
  6. Thank you Sir! I have 3 copies of that kit in my stash, and never built one: all were raided for components. Go figure... CT
  7. Thanks Ricky! Well, as the Cadillac mantra said: Longer, lower, wider! That Eldo certainly carried it to it's excessive peak...Oh wait: The 71 was more, on all 3 counts. Oh well... CT
  8. Hi! Many gifted illustrators/designers have penned "station wagon" based on the 67/70 Eldorado. But most were of the typical side-glass variety... I found a complete Johan 70 Eldo kit... But the body was severely twisted, and most fellow modelers advised to pass. Still, I felt I could do a stylish curbside out of it. So... The body was realigned under hot water and steam, with heavy styrene sheet (.60) used for a floor, firewall, multiple bulkheads and various structural reinforcements. An AMT 66 Riviera front roof section, with windshield posts, was grafted to the rear half of the Eldo roof, in turn pushed backward, and turned into a hatch. C-pillar solid panels were superglued in place, and a complete interior, save for the dash and bucket seats, was scratchbuilt. Revell,s Ferrari California cabrio rolling stock was modified for use here. Tamya's and Smartcraft's paints complete the deal. I like to think that famous GM design VP Bill Mitchell might have liked it. What do you think? Hours of fun with styrene! CT
  9. horrible afterlife conditions
  10. Hi EMRE! Nice, and happy if I had any effect in "inspiring" your roadster! Funny: my parts box contains many of the parts you used, accumulated over many decades. Nerver throw anything away, they say... Bravo! CT
