I agree. It is one of my favorite color combos. -
My relationship, hobby and wife, is just like yours. I agree. My situation is similar.

Subject definitely. As a Day-two Muscle car fan. I am fortunate to have a whole lot of choices available. I look in my display cabinet and check my Ford, GM, Mopar balance and then pick 3-4 kits to bring the lowest count closer in balance to the others. I do batch builds so that I can be slightly more efficient with my time and can learn and correct issues on all of them at the same time. I also mix in a Semi (or two) for change of pace. I have a few kits I really want to come out spectacular but I am waiting for my skillset and techniques to improve before I tackle those.

That turned out quite beautiful.

High quality work. That interior is awesome.

Very nice! The kit in this color is on my to do list. My (eventual) best man had an orange 1:1 a few years before I got married.

What does "NNL" stand for?
Bills72sj replied to spudmuffin1959's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I like the sound of the NNL concept, though I have never had the privileged of attending one. I have been to a few local shows over the last couple of decades. I simply enjoy sharing my builds and seeing the amazing work others have done. If I win an award great, I have been pleasantly surprised in doing so about a dozen times now. I am never disappointed if I do not. I am happy to get to share some time with like minded enthusiasts. -
Thank you, Tony. It would make a good 1000 piece puzzle too. Thank you, Gary. Look on Craigslist, or thrift stores that sell furniture. Also swing by estate sales. Thank you, David. It has been decades in the making. Thanks for sharing Greg. I have met folks online that have acquired store fixtures like that. My house is too small and still primarily decorated by my wifeI do not have any room to add any more display cases. Thank you, Tom. I was lucky to find additional glass shelves cheap.

Well done. A nice, believable compilation of pieces. -
Very impressive. I am a fan of your very high standards in detail and finishes.

That looks great. I love the color choice. What did you use for the spark plug boots?

Now that I have a few more builds off the bench, it was time to rearrange the contents of my display case.

I got to go to a car show with my best friend and his car guy son. The show also had a model show that I displayed some recent builds. I won 1st place in the Factory Stock Class with Jade (65 Bonneville). Then I came home to my awesome wife and had beef stew made from scratch that had many ingredients canned from her/our garden. It was a good day! 😃

AMT Kenworth T-600 modification
Bills72sj replied to Carl127's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I have built 2 of the AMT kits. I left the suspension as supplied. Mostly because accuracy is not a thing for me. I build kits more as an art project. Here are pics of the hood/grille body worked in and without. I also have pic of a headache rack I made from scratch for another build. -

I love what you have done with it! -
Thank you, Louis. 🙂 Thank you, David. 🙂 Thank you, Tom. 🙂 Thank you, Gareth. 🙂 Thank you, Mike. I did build the diorama for that purpose. (It helps distract people from my mediocre photography skills)

I concur with all the error comments above. The wheel arches could be reshaped better (Not perfect with some filing) If you removed the doors and replaced the rocker with a slightly longer one you could tweak both ends upward a tad. That would be a lot of work unless you intended to have opening doors. The short shallow scoops appear short and a bit too forward. They could be lengthened but it would disrupt their relationship to the R/T emblem which is also a tad forward. It will depend how motivated you are to correct things that a less than 1mm off.

Thank you, Steve.🙂 Thank you, Eric. 🙂 Thank you, David. It would be if they were 1:1 and in my garage. Thank you, Chuck. I agree. 🙂
