  1. As long as the world stays on track, the 1st swaps start in September.....I can hardly wait, I need build-ups and see whats new from the resin guys.
  2. I saw Hobby Lobby had 40% off and free shipping for orders over $50, so I figured good deal. So I went on the site and my first few choices were out of stock, so I hit on a AMT DM800 Mack an R series Mack and the 67 Chevy 4 door "Supernatural" . My order came in today and when I opened the box.....not one kit was right. I got the AMT 007 Ford, AMT Autocar and Tyrone Malones drag truck. The pick order was in the box with my original kit choices and a card that said "Picked and Packed with pride by Huong". At least it was 2 trucks and 1 four door.?. Still was worth the price.
  3. Put the interior shell back together after narrowing and changed the Ford dash to look closer to the White 3000 dash and narrow to fit interior. Changed the tire wheel combo to a resin older style tire/wheel . I also decided on a flat bed style straight truck instead of a tractor. The flat bed base will be covered with wood planks and maybe make sides, this one will take awhile, plus I need to get 2 steer tires to match the rears, and since the chassis was from a glue bomb build I still have plenty of clean up..?
  4. I pin a lot of items when building resin or if I modify something, so pins on the handles are something I would applaud, but take what I can get.
  5. They do look super, speaking of super that 64 looks super. Nice work.
  6. I was on his website before I posted , but I do remember awhile back someone had entry handles in pewter. Fireball has the early GM style I'm after tho'.
  7. I sent an email to Fireball, just have not heard back yet . I know I need to buy at least 5 sets.
  8. Is there a source for 1:25th exterior door handles in pewter or resin?
  9. Completed this one with many boom mods and a little light weathering. Pretty much out of the box build ,very few parts box items.
  10. Starting this build today of J/F resin 50s or early 60s White cabover. I'm using a Ford C series cut down chassis and the closest interior is from the C series also. Had to narrow it some but I'm liking the fit. Engine looks like the problem now because of motor height , but I also said that about finding an interior
  11. Not a lot of work left except doing the details like black and chrome foil, some under the hood painting and then assembly. On the box it shows light weathering on the lower cab which I will do after the Cooter's decals are on. The kit come with side pipes but not sure on putting them on. Still have a small amount of boom lift work and put some control levers in the back.
  12. Thank you Carl. I thinned out the boom and added supports. I can live with the look the way it sits but need to make a winch and make some cable from waxed thread. Every time I stop at the local hobbyshop I picked up a pack of some shape of Evergreen plastic and tossed in in a tub, I'm glad I did . I do use my share .?
  13. Got all 3 colors on but now I'm not sure on this kit boom. I would Ike to stay true to the kit, but a pipe style boom would look better,I even gathered up the plastic to start on one, and yet I could modify the kit boom keeping the shape but get rid of bulk and add some pipe and rigging. I have the interior to do while changing my mind 5 more times on the boom.?
  14. Easy trade with "Sam I am" .Easy and smooth.

Thanks Alan, hope your search finds you one.
  17. All the body work done and have the bed area joints sanded. The one thing missing was the rear cradle items, so I had to modify a tow bar to fit. The bulk of the work is cutting away some of the boom so it don't look so bulky. I have the grille guard from the MPC '68 tow truck I will use also.

I’ve watched Dean Milano hack up some pretty rare kits and build it his way over the last 20 some years. The non mainstream builds are what keeps our hobby fresh and it’s awesome to see what ideas are around the corner next. A Vicky on a VW frame has to be a wild one.?

This MPC kit was only a partial build and because of its age the chrome was rather faded and in some areas it was rubbed to the plastic color. The grille was in great shape, wheels needed replacing and new windshield cut from some clear. Rear axle assy. needed the most work. Any chrome I removed was shot in gold. Engine is mostly kit with some parts box added. I decided not to try the kit decals. Colors are red metallic over gold coated with pearl. Interior is metallic red with buff tones and white.
  20. Tires and wheels are on. Tires are from the kit, mags are parts box. The interior is cream and white. I left the interior sides body color. The Corvair engine is so far from the kit, but its missing the kits custom exhaust pipes so I'm trying to dig up a set .I too never knew about this kit until I got it.
  21. Quote: I have tons of interesting kits and resin and you see what I play with! Thats a 100% true Tom, most builder / collector that have been building for some time tend to tinker with others discarded builds seeing something good . I can't explain it , but am guilty of it myself.
  22. I always like to have 2 builds going on at one time so paint or clear on one can cure fully. This one was a partial builder I had for years so after I checked all the parts , its time to build Cooter's Tow Truck. The only thing I may alter is the toy like boom, I'm going to use it, just opening the flat surfaces so it don't look so bulky. The crank I'm not sure about it.
  23. Paint is on and and once its cured we can start again. The glass is starting to get better , the tire burn was pretty deep. Im going to keep trying but if it dont come out soon I'll just cut one out and add the vent glass from the original.
  24. Red metallic over gold and pearl clear coat, and red/white interior. White top.
  25. All the body, engine and chassis are clean up and in primer, a glue spots gone and gaps filled in. Found some replacement mags and wheel backs that will work. The rear axle was a melted mess so I will have to scratch up one. The 2 support arms were a mess also but was able to file it open the arch.
