  1. Or haul prisoners, ? whatever you decide on it looks good and hope you had fun doing it Ray. I have been doing alot more resin items myself.
  2. Thanks Tom, info is always gold. With this being a Phantom item it worked out, I have a stock 59 Buick Wagon and I needed to save my only chassis for that...
  3. Since I retired last month ( I really work 2 days a week to stay somewhat fit) I have a lot of time to build what I have stashed away for many years. So now I can complete this J/F resin build. It involved the usual inside clean up so things will fit right. The 59 chevy El Camino is the donor except I opted to use a 63 Impala chassis with a engine blank since its a curbside build and the easiest way to alter the ride stance. The interior tub leading edges needed a trim to clear the fender tubs Parts box wide whites , chrome wheels and skirts.. No theme yet, just smoothing it out.
  4. I thought about the colors being Peach/White but settled on a Yellow/White. Cut all the old chassis detail out like gas tank , muffler and pipes then realized it really didnt matter since I was not opening things up for an engine but it does look better. Added some suspension details to the chassis and an old style hood scoop. I swapped out the front wheels with some machined ones I got from Vince"vintagedragcrazy" Nelson a while back, I think they work good on the Nash.
  5. This is a J/F resin body using a Polar Lights Ecto-1 as a donor with a few parts box items and the interior has a few parts box items and a Three Inches Under aftermarket resin gurney. The body took up alot of time getting things to fit with rear glass and interior tub taking the longest. At one time I thought I hated doing the foil work, now Im positive.?
  6. Looks good, added detail could be endless.
  7. Those are all cool as heck. Im going this way like the Nickey Nash but not fitting in the entire engine just a pocket in the hood for the blower assy.....maybe...??
  8. Not sure, I dont remember seeing any vendor name on the box, bought it about 3 years ago.
  9. Took a little bit to get the interior to fit, but with thin walling the body inside ,and removing the floor it fits great now. Kit come with everything you see except tires and wheels. Curbside build. The cast surface is pretty clean.
  10. Need a few missing parts but not in very mucn of a hurry 1 light sconce and 1 shower head. Its far from box art but its a save from 1969
  11. ??
  12. Im working some Bare Metal Foil over very thin trim and am afraid it may curl itself off from having such a thin contact surface. Im not laying down long strips along the body, Im doing the fender then the door then the next door etc. My question is has anyone used a light mist of clear coat over Bare Metal Foil or if you came across this what did you try ?
  13. Started doing the foil work, some strips are very thin and some have curves. I ran out of BMF doing the passenger side which was almost done. Its not as bad as I thought it would be, I found out I like flat handle cheap knife that comes in some Testors paint sets more than the higher dollar round exacto knives.
  14. Thats really nice work, and thanks for the info.
  15. Looks like Im not the only one who pins everything?. Its a build with no rules, great job so far , some nice scratch work.
  16. Alot of painting to do when you remove most of the bright items but it allows you to change the look . Decided to go with some 50's colors. I painted a checkerboard style floor in aqua and white, used pinks and deep reds. I actually had 2 new front mags in the parts box and changed up the front tires too. Made a simple shower head to replace the lost one. Being semi-retired lets you get alot done.
  17. I bought this showrod for usable parts a few years back for $2 at a swap meet. Being a fragile show rod you dont plan on parts just falling off smoothly , they usually break . This one came apart pretty good even tho' you can see the glue build up everywhere. The only casualty was the floor rails up front [the pan for the sink cracked off] and I was missing (1) sconce tail light for the tub and showerhead. Much of the gold plated items had the same glue marks , so off with the plating. I realized this can be saved and I needed something to do while waiting for clear to setup on another build. So its now cleaned up and in primer and it wont be a boxart style build, just letting it flow as I go.
  18. Assembled and painted the resin gurney , that was a slow process waiting each time for the epoxy to set, and that completes the interior. Now to polish up the body and start my least favorite part of modeling, the tedious job of bare metal foiling. ?
  19. Got a few coats of color on it over the weekend. Had to do the roof twice. For some reason even with sanding and scrubbing and some soaking, the white reacted for some reason but repeated the process and it worked out. Interior about 70% done, but hopefully get the interior buttoned up before the weekend.
  20. Very classy looking, I 'm a fan of Gofer decals myself and the American Satco WW look perfect on it.
  21. Focus has been on the interior , dash is done and interior fitted with a few parts box items and cut out the modern control box off the tunnel and filled it in. Medical box ( old tool box ) fire bottle , radio, small front/rear divider and a few arm rests all pinned in. The gurney I borrowed from the original issue Johan Ambulace just for fit location, I found a the resin one I was looking for on the Etsy site , its a multi piece item done really well . Also put in a siren base and moved the side mirror to the fender. Red and white paint for the body and carry through the interior.( Pictures of gurney are the sellers not mine.)
  22. Very clean work. That era of Mercury is always pure good.
  23. Most of the work Ive completed has been getting most things to fit inside the body. The interior tub was not letting the chassis set right. Sanded all I could on the body inside and sanded the tub too , now the ride heighth is ok. The dash needed a radio removed off the top.Front glass fits pretty good now with interior tub in, but still have to finesse the curved rear corner glass to fit with the tub in. Dry fit all other parts and they all seem good. Rear fins and 8 resin roof corner lights are epoxied in. Need to find a resin gurney, I know Ive seen them on resin parts section on Ebay.
  24. Cleaned up alot on front ,rear and driverside. Front chrome almost fits perfect and rear chrome was alot of work opening holes for the tabs on the bumper to fit. There are tabs behind the tailights that need to fit in perfect or when you put the fins on, those pins wont align.
  25. JFlintstone resin 59 Cadillac , using the Polar Lights snap as a donor . Because of the size of the vehicle and the amount of windows , alot of time will be spent on cleanup and fit . So far nothing major on fit issues, but looking at alot of chrome foiling. Included with the body was the 3 rear windows (2 sets).and front and rear roof corner lights.
