  1. Something new and different doing that Corvette as a gasser.
  2. Put some color on the body and rails , also added a few decals .Now to get that engine done , front end done and paint and detail the interior area.
  3. Looks pretty good Ray.
  4. I use Tamiya XF-2 flat white Acrylic with a little dab of 91% alcohol on the brush before a dab of paint for the first coat, then next day brush on full coat of white. I only use acrylic on tires.
  5. The final mock up and all in primer. Painted whitewalls need a final coat and sealer, drilled rear deck for the push bar. Ready for paint.
  6. This is one of two kits in the Revell 22jr kit. I needed the complete dragster chassis and engine for the Dodge Revellion so I decided to build the Drag Roadster kit. Like most Revell kits they make some parts 2 pc and then chrome them, so I get rid off most off the chrome. On the multi piece body , I added a 3/16 strip to widen the rear area for easier fit, paint and seam removal. It wont be a Tony Nancy 22jr replica, just a 60s era drag roadster. I do see why as kids back in the day steered clear of these kits, they are pretty fragile and some what finicky going together but if you succeed they do look super.
  7. Had to cut out rear side glass from the custom roof glass piece, I didnt mind making the curve at the end , it was the way the glass tilted inward at the top plus the curve at the end, I just could not get it right. The Lincoln custom nose piece was also going to go on but thats another "power shed".
  8. That is awesome. Im at 43 years now , 50 years is something to brag about?
  9. I know its very hard Carl, we only get one mom that took care of us and wanted nothing in return , all we can do is hope for the best and pray . We are all with you.
  10. Rounding the homestretch on this one, the front roof rack Im not sure where I should leave it, up front or more towards the back. The interior was just started, the engine needs to be completed.. need to do some bare metal foil and make up some rear area glass pieces.
  11. Found some roof rack parts and went with custom front and rear ends, going low ride custom taxi .
  12. Im thinking white/black 2 tone inside and maybe white or pearl white outside.
  13. Looks good, back half looks great.
  14. Looks good, back half looks great.
  15. Body pretty mucb done, chassis down as far as it can go without chopping it up, roof rack is just a thought. Made the interior one big tub and filled gaps with bits of plastic . Had to make sure the cargo section had a slight taper to fit where the trucm was. Wide whites and chrome wheels may be the final choice.
  16. This was a builder I had bought really cheap , removed the paint and had taken it apart and tucked it away. Now looking for a next build I rediscovered the Lincoln.Cut off the visors for a smoother roof fit up front, then boxed in the rear window area. I had to add to the head liner to have a base for the roof insert for a better and smoother fit. This is another build ideas as you go project. Also picked up this UV bonder off Ebay for a few bucks to try, it works well and holds tight.
  17. Not really breaking any records getting things done this year, pretty sure this is my 1st of the year. With the exception of the MRC Crager / Firestone tire set ,trying to make the sunroof work and the sport mirrors, it waas a straight forward build . Kit is a 1:24 Revell painted Testors Extreme Lacquer Flaming Orange
  18. I stopped in there last summer, didnt see anyone from the shkw tho`
  19. Last update, this one just needs exterior details to complete like window trim and a little chrome work. I was on the fence on the mirrors, the chrome van mirrors or these sport mirrors. The original idea on the interior was to be maroon and white, but it didnt contrast , white wzs good bjt the darker maroon just didnt work for me.
  20. Your light commercial builds are always over the top.
  21. Thats some nice lookin ' builds.
  22. I got color on the body just need to polish and clear coat, also got the chassis/engine completed. I did not put alot into the engine area as once the van is all together there is really no way to see it. Light weathered the chassis area . Paint is metallic orange, interior will be white with maroon accents. The murals are from the Gofer Mural set. Also I tried Model Master Chrome Enamel and it works really well.
  23. I enjoyed the trade also, fast and exact, no surprises.?
  24. Ok...back to work on this van. I tried various ways to make the sun roof open and close. Problem was getting it to pop up into its space when closed. Tried bent shims for the roof to ride on but after a few tries the shims got weak and failed. I used epoxy to mount interior roof rails for the roof and tried other shim materials but Im over it now....? So I will just have to live with it sliding open and almost close. Im moving on to get it done .
