  1. Daniel Peterson says piping...and that was a super idea...I found some Detail Master flocking in the color I wanted then found some thicker thread for piping in a darker shade of blue at hobby lobby....its a long way from done and the interior will take a little longer , but its moving....and thanks to all for the cool comments
  2. End of April is cool.....Detroit you say....im gone the 7th thru 13th and 21st to 27th....Milwaukee NNL is the 15th...please say its the 28th or 29th then its very possible....be great to see all you guys again and Jeff from Motor City Resin....I may even go instead of Milwaukee if its the 14th or 15th...
  3. Sounds good to me Pat..I'll be on the 3rd tire in one month tho'....I'll obtain that kind of speed because its a curb-side 2 months maybe....3 months it should look kinda like a Lexus......4 months for sure....5 months I'll prolly loose my train of thought......so any where between 2 and 4 is good for me
  4. This is a really nice kit, no clean up to be found on the body , curbside kit with a high parts count, really sweet jumbo tires , high lift kit [i've seen these parts from this kit on pick-up truck builds] this makes 6 Aoshima kits I purchased and you have to check the box for left hand drive option if thats important to you...the red tree with the seats and steering wheels are actually from Aoshimas SPO S-Parts pack , it also has the rear wing uprights on this tree but thats all , heres the kit:
  5. This kit is nice....there will not be wasted time cleaning this one up..pretty high parts count for a curb side, 2 complete trees of glass, amber or clear, decals have all the gauges and looks like 2 separate seat patterns , its a 30 dollar kit but if you print out a 40% off coupon at Hobby Lobby 18 bucks is a pretty good deal , and all I went in for was some blue thread for the seats in another build........Sheeeeeesh why does this always happen to me? the box also shows variable ride levels.....
  6. Zeb this methods never failed.....no glue is safe
  7. Hi Jared , and welcome to the forum....cool place huh?
  8. Hey Pat thats quite the variety of builds there...all lookin sharp....whats your ideas on that nifty '61...a ""street sleeper"" with poverty caps and more horse pressure than any one car should have.....
  9. Painted transparent blue over gold , let it cook for awhile , maybe add the clear later this week. Adjusted the stance lower , but as my luck would have it, the hood had a fish-eye....hope when I re-paint the hood it matches.... Thinking a white for the interior....engine out or the revell 65 chevy convert....
  10. All products are tried and true, I'll toss 2 more in the ring...ELO Polly-s easy lift off works great brush it on land let it work, found at your local hobby haunt--and Dawn Power Dissolver for pots and pans in the blue spray bottle , found in the dish detergent aisle .....
  11. I love it!!!!!!! The everyday dash items , the grille area , the weathering....truley a fantastic piece
  12. Looked good then....looks good now...I cant decide .
  13. Tried some 70's skirts but didnt look right...trimmed down these parts box skirts and found a set of these wheels mounted on Firestone supremes....I'm not sure if they are SMP or promo wheels they have the fat splined axle...
  14. These kits may be over looked but I had a bunch in the 60s , and this was the earliest kit I can remember building as a kid ''Digger''...I've seen maybe 6 or 7 out all the ones on the box side....parts count is simple , no chrome, no 3 in 1 parts , just your ideas and build it... Not everyones cup of tea...but some early memories for me...
  15. This board should have been your first stop.... wanna hat go to a hat store...want shoes...shoe store.....and so on , just got #119 but didnt check it out yet....good job on the magazine , best one out there, best board is here... Keep up the great work...

  18. cool pics Zeb...roll bars? who needs them if you have a stout neck
  19. Your right on this one Bob, I just turned down a builder before Christmas...Irv thats just plain super sharp!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. Harry , those are some super looking chevies...that '58 really stands out , '67 and '61 are awesome ....
  21. Thanks for the compliments guys....usually dont build these , but I wanted to try at least one like this...I do like the 60s and 70s style Nascars...I guess its because I grew up with them..
  22. Well I got this far without a hitch...used the parts that came with the kit so far,had to cut out the wrinkled areas and bring back the driver door bottom thanks to evergreen products , this is the first skim coat of light bondo and sanded to shape....all chrome gone including door handles....tire choices could be low-riders out of the '70 monte kit or maybe some hi-tech Aoshima 19s ...thats it for this week...gotta go to work if I want to play....
  23. AHHH starting to come together real nice Darryl...very nice and very different
  24. Starting with this older issue of the 1970 Chevy , I'm trying my hand as a mild custom... with the all the problems on this body has from the amount of glue the original builder used , and having been re-issued, I'll try something I've never done...so here goes nothing ...................
