Starting with this older issue of the 1970 Chevy , I'm trying my hand as a mild custom... with the all the problems on this body has from the amount of glue the original builder used , and having been re-issued, I'll try something I've never done...so here goes nothing ...................

This one went together pretty good , considering only the body, interior tub and part of the chassis was all I had...the rest was donated from Jeff Burton # 99 Taurus , both cars in 1/24th scale...or bent to fit or made from evergreen plastic...I didnt try to replicate any particular car...just the way I see it... Thats it ...top to bottom....on to whatever   :?:

Airbrush & Compressor recommendations?
BIGTRUCK replied to dwhite645's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I have the Paasche VL that came with 3 tips, still learning what I can do with it.so far its a good gun....I keep goin back to my old binks wren gun because it feels better to me, I had it a long time...for air I had the big craftsman 25 gallon that goes over 120 lbs. more than you'll ever need for models but will surley run your tools...that has 2 regulators and a CP water trap, works well but sounds like the troops are invading, plus you dont want it in the house. I got a small one with a tank from wal-mart and put 1 regulator and a screw on water filter and that works good for the 50 bucks it costs [plus your add ons] but it needs to be screwed down to some 2 x 4's or it vibrates around..a small portable air tank I never tried, but some swear by it...all are better than what canned air bombs cost and your able to do much..MUCH more by getting away from the air cans.. -

Thanks, the one in the pic came from Hobby Lobby...they were selling 'em for $150 bucks each..two weeks after I bought it , the company I work for relocated a bank to their new building. They got rid of 3 this same size except no wood , they were all glass and the same size trimmed in chrome...I was lucky to get one...just didnt get it from the garage to the basement yet.... -

Zeb , old room was 12 x 14 with a walk in closet , TV's goin on the wall tonite, Pat stanchions and blue rug came out of a bank we moved as well as 1 big glass case [moving furniture has its pluses] clients tell us to get rid of alot of good things... Zeb, I think I'm the only one with an intrest in these ........ -
After being cramped in a small area my wife and resident warden let me have the entire basement for my own. All is complete after doing things my [and her way..painting and stuff]except the last 12 feet and that will be a TV and video game area and one more glass case....now back to building.... Work area is still messy, but somethings never change........

clear coat question
BIGTRUCK replied to dwhite645's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Darrel, if you look at my ''on the bench'' post , that modified mustang I'm doin has the decals cleared over. They are slixx and some cady decals , but they are thinner than kit decals and cleared with dupli-color .the few sponsor decals i used from a kit still lets the decal edge show , so trim it down close,,,I usually dont clear over anything but paint , but this time i did......... -
Hey cool Ute Michael , great job of weathering...
