    Me too. I tried to build it but the plastic was too brittle. The body broke into several pieces. Also had the blue molded 80s issue. Also built as a junker. Hopefully my skills are better now.

    This one was built from the Amt 1960 F100 reissue. The cab was slightly modified by opening up the fenders and building a new floor, along with scratchbuilt mirrors. The chassis is from an Amt Ford LN. The wheels and hubs are 3d prints from ST Supply. Originally I was going to build an F500, but I got a good deal on these 6 lug wheels, so F600 it is. The bed is all scratchbuilt from styrene and bass wood. My wife went to several stores buying plastic animals to get enough goats and sheep to fill it up. I sprinkled real hay from my real goats in the bed floor.

    Build a paint booth. I planned to finish 12 builds for 2023. I came up 3 short. Tried again in 2024 and ended up with 17, so that evened out pretty well.

    When I was a kid I hated small economy cars. Probably because my parents were cheap and only bought tiny little 2 door cars, which they crammed me into the back of on trips. Now I'd love to have a Datsun B210 or a Beetle. I did compromise and get a BRZ. Small, but not too small. 4 doors never appealed to me either, but for some reason I'm liking the looks of 68-up Nova sedans.

    Mostly likely the last build I'll finish this year. I started with the Revell 65 stepside kit and cut off everything behind the cab. The frame rails, leaf springs, and bed were scratchbuilt. Wheels are Moebius that I bought from Pegasus Hobbies.

    Finished a few weeks ago. I started with the Amt conventional kit. The frame was shortened, and the optional single drive from the Amt Ford snowplow kit was used. The bed was entirely scratchbuilt from evergreen styrene and bass wood.

    This started out as the Amt Alaskan Hauler kit. I shortened it about a foot, used the tilting hood, and made the grill guard fold. The engine is a 6V71 cut down from the V8 in the Amt Peterbilt 359 kit. Rear Budds are from ST Supply. I made the trailer from styrene and parts from an Amt/Imc trailer that was badly warped.

    I remember seeing these everywhere when I was a kid. I thought they were so ugly, but 35 years later they're not so bad. This was built mostly out of the box, but I did scratchbuild a 5 speed trans and shifter. Paint is Tamiya and Krylon shortcuts. The trailer is the Amt/Imc autoworld 36 footer used as a placeholder.

    Finished this one 2 weeks ago. Plan was to have a matching trailer, but I got sidetracked. Added Moebius singles, and a lot of scratchbuilt parts. The stacks are evergreen tube cut at angles, glued back together and painted with a Molotow. Paint is mostly Tamiya, except for the Rustoleum on the engine.

    I saw a sealed backhoe at a swap meet not long ago. The guy had $100 marked on it. I almost made an offer but I'd probably never build it.

    Thanks for the kind words! I took some more pics without the bright sun and dark shade. I tried my hand at detailing the engine. Every Cummins 350 I Google looked slightly different. So I just took what I saw and added what I thought fit the best. The headache rack is from the Alaskan Hauler with a top bar added on. I also cut out the door glass and made the mudflaps and weights.

    I usually have at least one manual vehicle. In 12 years, my wife hasn't tried any of them. She says she knows how, but hates them. I ran into an issue that I hadn't thought I'd ever see. When I took my BRZ in to get the hail damage fixed, they had to find someone thin enough to drive it.

    I deviated from the box a little bit this time. I wanted to build it the way I would like to have a 1:1 set up, except I would need a flatbed for farm use. Maybe I'll add that later after I restock my styrene. Paint is Tamiya Pearl Green and Tamiya black.

    Finished this one a few days ago. Built mostly from the box. I did stretch the frame quite a bit, along with make new mudflaps and top parts of the stacks. Paint is plain Tamiya Blue and Krylon short cuts Cotton Candy Blue. This kit wasn't easy for me to build, especially during final assembly, but it looks ok on the shelf.

    That looks really good. I've seen those sleepers somewhere and wondered, does the cab have to be cut? Does is slip over?

    Finished this one a few days ago. I extended the frame a little, and added dual straight pipes. They're just evergreen tubing painted with a Molotow marker. Scratchbuilt headache rack and few other small details. MTB 3d printed swan hood ornament. Other than getting the cab hood to line up, it went together pretty easy.

    My most recent build. Mostly box stock. I added Moebius singles, MTB swan hood ornament, scratchbuilt taillight panel, mud flaps, mirror hangers from .030 rod, and slightly modified stack. Paint is Testors metal flake red over black primer.
