I dont care for 55s or 56s. 57 was the best of that generation. But, I may still buy one.

Call me weird, but I loved those cars. Heck, I even liked the Luminas.

Awesome build, and awesome story to go with it.

Hobby Lobby, Michael's, and occasionally Ollie's are pretty much the only plastic model sources around here. No real hobby shops unless I drive to the nearest bigger city, which has a Hobbytown USA. It's also over a 2 hour round trip. I do visit a small shop about 2 hours south of me once per month. They carry kits that the big three do not, plus they dont mark up older kits to current pricing trends. I bought several sealed kits from the 90s and 00s for $10-11 each.

First time on the bench since hot weather arrived. Hard to paint with the humidity we've been having. Anyway, I found this kit for $10 at a small shop. Instead of building it as shown on the box, I'm going a different way. What if rednecks colonized the moon? Their buggies would be a lot more colorful than NASA's. I began by building a simple roll bar around the passenger compartment, then the rear bumper (with a 2" receiver hitch) The front is a parts box grill guard that will have a winch. Wheels are 1/20 Toyota 4wd pickup items. I haven't decided on paint. I'm leaning towards something bright and outlandish, but dirty and weathered sounds good, too.

I actually prefer the "monster of the week" episodes. I hate the overall story arc. I'd like it better if Dean used an AR15 or something. His "no holster, hammer down" 1911 carry makes me cringe.

That's how I knew about it. Apparently, AMT likes to surprise us every now and again.

Nice build. True, you dont see many people build them in white. I had a 1:1. Mine was originally burgundy but someone repainted it purple. I had always loved the looks of these cars, so I bought one. Too bad it was built by GM. Leaky window seals and broken door handles quickly followed after I paid for it.

Good to know. I'll probably start mine once the humidity lowers around here and I can paint again.

I recently picked up AMTs 93 Corvette convertible dirt cheap. I haven't started it yet, but from past experience, the Monogram kits went together well. Cant explain it, but the AMT kit just looks like it will have issues.

I'd like to see that, as I love the looks of those.

A few new Round 2 kit coming out ......

^^^ Also that JD backhoe is really old. Hardly see those anymore. I'd guess anyone interested in construction equipment might want something more modern. I know I would. -
Looks good. Yeah, the hood fit on this kit sucks. I had to grind down the top of the core support to get mine to shut all the way.

I like Tamiya, but can't get it locally. Testors lacquer black is what I use.

I built the Amt Rabbit about 20 years ago. Found it at a swap meet for about $5. The box had mildew and dead roaches in it. It went together very well, and had decent enough detail. Too bad I no longer have it. When I got divorced I took my Jeep, my tools, and my guns. When I went back for my models most were trashed. I'll find another one someday.

Saw one on Ebay a few days ago. $80 buy it now! I know where one is sitting on a shelf for $20. I'm going back to get it next week hopefully.

T.V. car/truck goofs. Mistakes Ect....
Rbray47 replied to ranma's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Continuity errors drive me insane, but I guess the average consumer doesn't mind (or even notice) But I get it. Some car crashes might push their budget too far, so they substitute. I hate, absolutely hate...movies and tv shows where a cop or bad guy will pull out a Glock and there's a sound effect added. Glocks dont have safeties to click, nor do they have hammers to cock. Also, every outdoor scene in a western US state has a stupid falcon or hawk screeching. -
Following. I always liked those cars.

Thanks! I was going to foil out like the rest, but I decided to be cheap lol

Well it's done, or mostly. Still need to add the rear bumper guards. I also forgot to give the wheels a black wash around the lugs. Not the easiest kit I've built, or my best effort, but the wife is happy. It will go in it's own display case likely to never to be taken out, so some of my boo-boos (like glue on the windshield that I painted over with black to hide) wont be noticed. I didnt spend much time under hood since it will never be opened. Also, the Molotow around the wheel openings looks horrible in the pics, but in person it's looks good. Wierd.
