I don't know if the mold still exists, or even if it does, would make enough profit to run. But, it would be a cool body to put on the J2000 pro street chassis.

Love it. Always been a fan of Isuzu.

Thank you so much. I found a set of Fujimi 17in 10 spokes that are very close.

I really don't buy aftermarket model parts, so I have no idea where to start looking. I'm building a model of my 1:1, but my car has different rims than as supplied in the kit. I ordered the kit from Ebay. I already know that I'm going to have to cut up the RHD dash, but the wheels are the most noticeable difference.

Clear parts adhesion question
Rbray47 replied to Rbray47's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Thanks for the fast answers! I *think* I saw Tamiya clear at the hobby shop. I'd rather just pick some up on my next trip. -
I normally use Testors gloss clear to adhere headlight lenses, etc. I can't find any locally anymore. Will Tamiya gloss clear work the same? Or should I just order a dedicated clear parts glue?

A little more progress. I started painting interior bits krylon khaki. Also painted the trim, which isn't easy.

Last update before I have time to work on it again. The engine is finished and installed. The chassis is done, however it is warped. I'm hoping that final assembly will straighten everything out. I had planned to build this more or less stock, but I couldn't resist changing out the air filter.

Nice replica. I always liked the looks of those cars.

That turned out great! I think I'm going to use the same kit. Back then, I painted mine Testors light blue enamel, and built it stockish out of box.

Some progress here and there after work. Engine is just about done. Painted with Tamiya aluminum, semigloss and flat black, Testors leather, with Tamiya panel line accent to give it some depth and used look.

I like the idea of this thread. I can't believe I haven't noticed it yet. Hmm...trying to remember some builds from my childhood that I want to replicate...

Thanks. I may keep them. Not sure yet. I remember when they were new and always wanted one. I ended up with its cousin, a Lumina. The 3.1 V6 was a good engine, even with the randomly bad plenum gaskets.

Still plugging away at it. I think I made the exhaust a little too fat, but that's ok (I used sprue, so my options were limited) Also, I can't seem to remember where I put my Tamiya masking tape, so I tried to freehand the frosted areas of the windows (after a drink or two) Didn't turn out too well, so I blacked them out. -
Just bought this and opened it. Its actually my 3rd Pontiac of this era. The first one was a factory stock 92 GTP, and this same 90 model turned pro street. I think I want to build this one stock. Other kit wheels shown for mock up purposes. I've always loved these cars for some reason. Never owned a 1:1 though. Never found the right deal. Probably paint it Testors GM dark cherry.

Interior is done and engine installed. Hopefully I can get some better pics tomorrow in the sunlight. -
Looks dang good.

I doubt a lot of Hobby Lobby customers have even heard of a Dodge Demon. It's a business and they have to produce what (hopefully) the bean counters assume will sell.

Looks great, and since you mentioned it, yeah, it does like a Chrysler Airflow.

Getting the engine fitted properly. I found that the motor mounts I made interfered with literally every single exhaust header from my parts stash. So out they came. Problem was only partially solved though. Since I wanted the engine set back and low enough to keep the hood stock, the suspension and steering box wouldn't allow any headers either, so ended up cutting and grafting a pair until they nestled in without touching anything. -

Back at this one (after it sat about a year and a half) Now it's green. Hopefully I can clear it tomorrow while I'm still off work. Also did some engine fitting. I went ahead and used the engine from the Nova kit, modified to tuck under the hood and firewall.
