  1. Excellent work as always, O.C.
  2. Thanks O.C. I really appreciate the comment..

  4. I purchased the decals from Thad Brooks. You can contact him over at the Randy Ayers site.
  5. Here is how the nose looked when i first applied the Squadron white putty to the chevy nose.
  6. Usually if you base your model on the museum car it will not be accurate. It's better to find photos of the real car when building a model of a vintage nascar racer. I am building a model right now that the sponsors are wrong on the museum car as well as the contengencies and even the color of the car is wrong. The color of the numbers is also wrong. Luckily I found colored pictures of the real car.
  7. Revell 2007 Jeff Gordon kit modified with white Squadron putty to make it look like a Dodge, Tamiya paint and aftermarket decals.
  8. Nice clean build.
  9. Great job.I really like the paint.
  10. Excellent builds as usual O.C. I especially like the #22.
  11. Bill, I am a big fan of your work. I really liked the article and build of the Gober Sosebee Ford.

    #15 Square Bird

    Great job.
  13. Rex White is my all time favorite driver and he used the #4 most of the time. The others are just a coincidence.
  14. Niko, The bungi cords are made from elastic jewelry thead that can be purchased at any craft store such as Hobby Lobby. I removed the outer sheathing from the thread and then colored it with a silver sharpie felt tip pen. It easily stretches over the hook in the hood and the trunk. Thanks for your interest in the build.
  15. David I used the wheels from the kit but the tires were too small so I used tires from an amt 55 chevy kit.. The wheels are detail painted. They come with slots in them but not cut all the way through. Thanks for your interest in the model.
  16. Revell Black Widow kit. Testors 2 part lacquer. Decals created by me and printed on Testors ink jet clear decal paper. Exhausts and Rollbars made from Evergreen styrene 3/32" tubing. Bungi cords from elastic jewelry cord. Fixed some more photobucket links.
  17. Thanks, O.C. I can definitely say the same thing about your builds.
  18. Thank you Niko. It's great to see there are Vintage Nascar fans in Finland.
  19. Dan here are some color pics. They are not real sharp because they are dvd captures, but you can make out what the contrngencies are and where they were located for the Southern 500 car.
  20. Dan here are three pictures I found of Jim Reed's 59 Chevy I scanned from books I have. I'm sure if you go to Raytona's Fotki site you can find more. Just google it. Billy Kingsley also has many pictures in his Fotki site but I can't remember what he calls it. I think its El Camino Billy.
  21. Dan , I get a lot of information from the guys at the Randy Ayers site. I also have a lot of books I have purchased over the years. I have some pictures of Jim Reeds 59. I just need to scan them and I'll post them .
  22. Brett, my guess is that it might have been a piece of plexiglass to protect the driver in case a piece of metal tryed to come through the windshield. I did'nt want to add it to the model because I was'nt sure and nobody seemed to know.
  23. Thanks guys. Here are some pictures of the real car I used for reference to build the model.
  24. AMT 58 Impala kit. Testors 2 part lacquer. Homemade decals printed on white and clear Testors decal sheets. Roof was changed from hardtop to sedan. This is the 8th of 11 Rex White cars I plan to build. Fixed some more photobucket links.
