Nicely built and great colour combo. Those red velour interiors were very popular, one of my favourite interior colours.

When I read the description and saw the first photo I was going to say it looks pretty nice, which it does, but then I scrolled down and saw what you made of it! Very nicely done, hard to believe it's the same car. Great job!

Very nicely done. I like the extra lights on the bar, and the accent colour on the spinners is a nice touch, matches the engine. Cool.
-
Nice. Lovely detail on this!

Another brand that seems absent in the UK:(
-
Nice, early split rear window too, I look forward to seeing it.

It's slowly getting the better of me I can assure you, I keep eyeing one of the Big 1/16 Chevy Bel Air convertible kits on there, it's going to happen, haha!

Great looking build, I do like those decals. The gearbox looks like real cast steel! What paint did you use for that?
-
Great stuff, I shall check that out right now!
-
Ah, so that was you. I clicked on that one a few times, just browsing you know! I came close a few times to bidding but I have four or five kits I've yet to start so I restrained myself... this time, haha.

It'll be a challenge but I'd give it a go. Could be a weathered scrapper, you've nothing to loose really from what's there.
-
wow, nice work on the door cards! You should work for Round2 building masters for the die press:D
-
I think it does, I'll do some test spots tomorrow and see what they look like out of the cans. The Champagne Gold, going by the lid colour, looks pretty close but I have a feeling it'll be too far off to pass for that, but it's still a nice colour so may still end up using it. I did a Ford Torino in Champagne Gold, though that was a different brand. It looks nothing like Evening Orchid or even the Halfords Champagne Gold in the pic above, yet they're both Champagne Gold!

Great work on flatting out the orange peel. I always rub through to the primer when I try polishing out orange peel, does my head in!

Looking great so far. Nice and bright with those decals, I like them.

I like this. It's going to look killer! -
Yes, getting an American spec colour over here would be an issue in itself. Good to know Aztec Bronze was a GM colour. I can get paint mixed up in a tin at any auto finishing shop here but I wouldn't have a way of applying it to the model. I could phone one of them up and say I have a '65 Pontiac I want painting! To see there faces when I turn up with a 1/25 would be worth the cost! xD I have some colours here I'm looking at, I like them all! Aztec Bronze might be a little too dark with the black roof, and the Kingfisher Blue on the end is a bit darker than the picture shows. The "Satin Black" in the picture just has the wrong lid, it's Arctic White.

Yeah, that's why I haven't bought the one I seen listed. I can't find a definitive answer to UK customs charges. It says anything under £135 there is no charge, but I've been charged before for a set of rear light units I bought in the states for my 1-1 car a couple years ago for $80.

Yeah, give it a go, no harm in trying. Everyone has a favourite method, this one works for me. I've tried the masking tape method and found it don't look right, the grain looks more like a kind of snake skin.
-
Just pulled the masking tape off, looking good. I'll mask off the roof tomorrow ready for body paint.
-
Thanks, David. I love Pontiacs of the 60's and 70's, my favourite brand of that time, although my preference is purely based on looks, I've never been lucky enough to actually drive one:( I did the vinyl roof with regular satin black from Halfords. I hold the can about three or four foot away to let the mist land on it. I do this about four maybe five times letting each layer set before the next coat. It dries almost straight away but I give it twenty minutes before I spray another mist coat on. It's basically no different to painting the body, you just hold the can further away.

Yep, I have the ebay feelers switched on! haha.

Vinyl roof just now finished, next will be to remove the masking tape than mask off the roof and it's on with the colour. I'll give the roof a day to dry properly before sticking tape to it, in the meantime I'll start detailing the interior.
-
I never noticed that! Thanks, Craig.
-
I have, US only. There is one listed in the states for "£20 with £17 postage, I might go for that as it works out about what kits go for in the UK anyway, around the £30 to £40 mark.
