  1. Awesome scratch building, man! Love this stuff.
  2. Yes, the wood trim looks amazing. It's going to be a nightmare recreating it on a 1/25 dash! I'm weighing up the bottom two pictures, the two tone gold is looking good but I think I'm leaning more toward the gold with white seats and door cards. Would the body colour be best or the lighter Champagne Gold you think? Your helping me narrow down my options, Dave:) I do appreciate the input, otherwise I would have just done the interior black as seen on the previous page.
  3. Very nice build, I love the brake master cylinder. Very nicely detailed under the hood.
  4. Got the first coat of paint on, it's only the first coat and it's a very light coat at that but already looks sooo good!. You were right Dave, Solar Gold was a better choice over the Kingfisher Blue and Aztec Bronze I think. I used two different filters on my camera to try and show what it looks like. It's too dark now so will leave this until tomorrow.
  5. wow, that picture posted above is crazy! I can't see half the threads, it's all picture of some car interior! Lol
  6. It depends on what the silicone is pored on, I think I used an old piece of wooden plank and plywood to make a box, it was probably covered in dirt too. So long as the part you want to cast is clean and you dribble the silicone in one area so that it flows over the part slowly there's no bubbles.
  7. I've decided on Solar Gold for the body, so here's some interior options I'm looking at. The door cards on the first pic look close to Champagne Gold and the seats a very light blue like I used on my '71 Thunderbird recently. The second picture is all black, the third is a combination of gold and tan, could be brown? not sure, and I don't have those colours to hand, and the last picture is cream, maybe gold, and white.
  8. The first picture is of a Ford Capri radio fascia surround. It's a two part mould and those areas with the bubbles don't get filled with resin, they press together leaving only the cavity around it ready to fill.
  9. Far from perfect but this is my favourite and best attempt so far.
  10. Very well detailed and the finish looks great. Excellent work for being away from the hobby for ten years! Go's to show it's like riding a bike, you never really forget. Nice one!
  11. Very nicely done, not an easy car to un-uglyfy! I like the colour coded bumpers and those wheels look just right.
  12. Always nice to see these old models. Great looking build. I remember my grandfather had two or three of these on the sideboard in the living room when I was a kid. I don't know if they were built kits or die cast but I remember I always wanted to play with them, haha!
  13. That looks wild! Very good build, nicely done.
  14. Well, most of the interior is already black so I'm half way there, Lol. I have a can of gunmetal grey that's very close to primer colour but has a bit more blue in it. I'll shoot some on a bottle and see what it looks like, I really need to buy some plastic spoons, xD
  15. Fitted the rear fender skirts and trimmed off the extensions that represent the arch trim, it does look better actually! Thanks to carmak for pointing them out, I would never have noticed.
  16. Yes, I was thinking the black roof against those two colours would be quite dark, especially the Aztec Bronze. The Ford Aztec Bronze was very popular on Ford Fiesta's and Capri's and they usually had a beige or brown vinyl roof, but that's a very 70's colour combo, I don't think it would suit a 60's car. Although I'm really liking the Kingfisher Blue, I think the Solar Gold (big bottle) would be best suited to the black roof. Hmmm, decisions! haah,
  17. Did some test spots with the paint today, I'm liking the Kingfisher Blue and Aztec Bronze the most. The cup on the left is Champagne Gold and the tall bottle is Solar Gold.
  18. Thanks, Carl. I've used the same method for years when painting 1-1 car parts that have that kind of texture, like radio fascia plates and clock bezels.
  19. I haven't really checked to be honest, I doubt there is anywhere local in my area that does it. I did have an aerosol can mixed by someone online a few years back when I made a batch of resin trim for 1-1 cars but I can't remember who did it, I'd imagine they would only have British paint codes anyway. It's no bother, unless I'm doing a 100% accurate build I'm ok with what I can get at the store.
  20. ah ok. We have Rustoleum products since forever, but has never been a paint associated with model building in the UK, it's always been something that's referred to for covering rusty gates and cast iron machines!
  21. I find this site extremely busy. I read most topics but no way can I visit every new post, even after an hour or two away I come back and nearly all the topics are highlighted, either with a new comment or a new build update from someone. I sometimes "Mark site read" to clear everything, otherwise everything is highlighted and becomes overwhelming. Some areas of the site I don't even visit cos I'd rather spend that time checking out updates from peoples WIP or the occasional comment in Off Topic. If I don't comment on someones post it's not because I don't want to be critical, it's that I simply can't read everything that gets posted, I'd be on here for hours if not the whole day if I were to click on every new post. It could simply be that, like me, I just clear everything before too much gets posted, the longer I leave it the more I'll end up clearing and missing.
  22. I can imagine that going sideways wide open on the track kicking up mud! Looks great.
  23. You done a great job on this! The paint reminds me of the colours Bentley's and Rolls-Royce's from the 70's and 80's came in.
  24. Nice pair of Roadrunners. I like the hubcap delete steels.

Very nice. The wheels look amazing, like banded Rostyles.
