  1. Another one in the bag. She's all finished and looking pretty in pink, haha. I'll post more pics in completed section. Thanks for following along:)
  2. The masking tape roof looks good. I have thought about using that method but all the masking tapes I've bought lately the tack comes off just from touching it. I use painters tape now but not sure how well that would hold up, probably fine but I haven't tried it. Lots of potential with this kit it seems, and tons of directions to go in. There was even a pro stock version while I was looking up this kit.
  3. Cool! Sounds like Leon Russell.
  4. Good to know. You mentioned this kit being closer to the Pontiac Ventura, is the chassis/base from that?
  5. I'll be watching with interest. I love making these old custom bits fit. Huge sense of achievement when done.
  6. They are very nice cars, especially with the Landau roof.
  7. There are a few on ebay now, though not sure how difficult they are to get over there. Kits that seem impossible to find here are usually everywhere in the states.
  8. Thanks. I'm in that situation now. I usually buy a kit, finish it, and then buy another, but I've bought four kits within a week and now I'm looking at them wondering which one to do next! I haven't done the '70 but I have done the '77 Monte Carlo Snap Tite. Great little kit!
  9. Love these, so creative. I'm trying to think what film I've seen something similar? Not the Fifth Element, maybe an episode of Cowboy Bebop?
  10. Turned out really nice. I like that some of the police parts are still on it. It really does look like a decommissioned police car.
  11. That's a sweet little rod. I like the weathering, looks like how cars rust over here in the UK, from the inside out!
  12. Nearing completion now. Interior is in, and I've gone with the green tinted glass. Shoehorning the base passed the 2mm or so overhang of the custom panels without cracking the filler that holds them was a bit tense, but it popped in ok. The back of the base has no pegs to sit on, so it sat up in the body a bit giving the car a low rider look, not the look I want, so I fixed it by letting it rest on the rear valance and glued it in place while the car was suspended off it's wheels. Engine was put in after the base was fitted. Just some foiling left to do now and I can call this one done:)
  13. Nice looking build. I loved Starsky and Hutch as a kid. I've built the standard version of this, very nice kit to work with.
  14. That AMT release does look very boxy. It looks closer to a '78 Chevy Malibu.
  15. They look amazing! I love the Rally wheels with spinners on the '76 SS. Yes, the Saffron metallic '76 is the same body style as the kit, a hatchback. That Lime Green go's nice with the white roof, tempting to do that colour combo now! I'm surprised to see one in the UK though, very nice.
  16. Looks really nice. Good detailing around the grill.
  17. Great looking build. Lovely paint job, no orange peel or anything. Very nice.
  18. Very nicely detailed, a lot of time went into this:D
  19. Looks good. I built one of these not long before I joined the forum, moulded in a metallic red. Although a snap kit, I couldn't help but detail it. It has an engine but is mostly hidden under the engine cover, and the hood only opens about three mm!
  20. Looks good to me. There is a thread on the forum somewhere with tips on how to photograph your models. If you have a good camera it's worth a look, no good to me as my camera is useless, lol.
  21. Fantastic idea, 1/25 Hot Wheels! Man, I would have been biting my mums ankles for one of these back in the day, haha!
  22. I like that! I've read about these and I actually really like them. Good job, I love that yellow mustard colour with white.
  23. Now that's nice! Beautiful paint, very clean looking build. It almost looks real, especially the outside shots.
  24. Thanks, Carl. At least somebody appreciates my vinyl roof;) Welcome to the controversy, haha. We'r already on page two in this thread and all I've done is the flipping roof! xD
