  1. Most recommend black, but like you, I don't see much difference what colour is used. The most important thing with aluminium or chrome paint is that the surface is as smooth as possible.
  2. Mine is the Morris Marina by Airfix, I have three of the real ones! The kit turns up on ebay sometimes but go for silly money and they are only 1/32 scale. I read that the moulds were destroyed a long time ago from a train accident apparently when being transported somewhere.
  3. wow, that's nice! Is that the Christine Fury body? I've been thinking of picking that one up. Yes, Hycote is becoming my favourite new brand of paint. I've just laid down the first coat on the Pontiac and looks to cover really well with no dark spots or streaks I sometimes get with the Halfords brand. Here's a sneak peek:)
  4. I love these. Nice work. My favourite car as a child in the 80's. Corgi Toys did many different versions of the Regal in 1/36 and 1/64 scale. I think I had every version at the time including Kojak's ride with Crocker hanging out the rear passenger door! Good times.
  5. A few shots of my 67 Mercury Cyclone. I was going to do stock out of the box but I tried my hand at customising, first time attempt! and I really enjoyed building it. The rear spring shackles are just cut up light bar from a police car kit I had, which I built up as a San Francisco Yellow cab. I was going to cut the bonnet out and put a blower in there from spares I have, but I wasn't brave enough yet! The only changes from stock I made are the rear spring shackles, slicks from the AMT 1962 Buick Electra custom option, and the custom steering wheel. Colour is Damask Red with Sandalwood Beige interior.
  6. Thanks. I'll put some pics up in the Model Cars section.
  7. Thanks, man:)
  8. Thanks, man. Already happening:)
  9. Nicely done. Amazing work on the conversion, and the colour scheme is great.
  10. In the film "The Last Man on Earth" the car changes from a Chevy to Ford in a couple of scenes.
  11. Here's a couple of pictures of the custom interior tub and the roof. There's a lot of potential with this kit, it also comes with various other custom parts like seats and some really nice Crager rims, I think that's what they are so correct me if I'm wrong.
  12. Starting to get some paint on now. Satin black on the chassis and silver for the exhausts. The exhausts are moulded into the axle which looks funny. When the paint dries I'll do the axle in glass black and detail the chassis. The engine is an axle through block which always tickles me:D
  13. I wish I understood the language too, my dad's first language is Welsh but he never taught it to us. My grandfather was Irish and moved to England during the War where he got married, they eventually moved to Wales where he worked at Pembrey airfield. So there's a bit of everything in me, but only one language! xD
  14. haha! yeah, Halfords is the go-to place for paints, pretty good quality. The Hycote brand is really good, though I haven't painted a complete car with it yet I've only used it on engines so far if I remember. The Pontiac will be done in Hycote but I have faith in it, it seems to lay down well with excellent coverage.
  15. I like that! Love the weathering, something I'm keen to try but not confident enough yet.
  16. wow, now that's a paint job! What a cool custom?
  17. Its' begun! Just a bit of sub assembly and getting everything in primer.
  18. Thanks, guys. Yeah, they are pretty much all showroom stock. It's not something I stubbornly stick to, I'd like to do weathering, rusting etc but I'm not brave enough to venture there yet as I'm still relatively new to this. My most adventurous build was the Cyclone with the raised rear leaf springs, that and a custom steering wheel is all I did and I was nervous doing just those, lol. I had fun building that one though and definitely want to do another, maybe with a blower sticking out of the hood. I wasn't confident enough to do that with this Cyclone.
  19. Stunning collection there! I really like them.
  20. You speak better Welsh than I do.. in fact I don't speak a singe word of it! xD I know, shameful. To answer what Google translated there, I have never seen a Pontiac in Wales. Cars more than fifteen years old are rare here due to the climate. They just rot away. I have a couple of classics myself and it's extremely hard keeping on top of the rust.
  21. Thanks. I'm just prepping everything now, should have an update soon.
  22. Nice. I've always preferred these over the 911.
  23. ok, my first build on here so be gentle! xD only kidding, be as critical as you like, guys, I welcome it. Just opened the box and can't wait to get started. I'll be going with the standard convertible, though I do like the custom which comes with some sweet decals and an awesome little scale box you can cut out and put on display, I Love it! I'll do the pickup next time if I buy this kit again. I've chosen to paint the car in Aztec gold with a beige interior, not the most exciting colours but I think it'll look ok when completed.
  24. Love the colour, looks amazing!
  25. Thanks. Been looking for a colour that would suit a 62 Buick and it caught my eye.
